  • Sorry guys I've been quietly busy working on team orders these past few weeks. The group has finally finished and I've done a grand total of 14 articles earning 50-60 euros per article. I've worked out that I've earnt about £700 altogether, which is great. :) They've not all been accepted yet mind so the payments will be staggered.

Planning on taking a short break to recover!

Any advice on which teams may be best to join?

I've just been accepted onto the guides team too, and I thought "woohoooo, better rate per word!" then I read the titles ...

However, I'll get started on them because it's good money and handy at this time of year.

I've also found myself on a product description team for a client who was pleased with my work on an open order, and it is great fun. The jobs are short but they seem to want quite humorous, cheesy descriptions so I've had a real laugh doing them, seeing how many awful puns I can fit into 150 words! I got a direct order at first before they invited me to the team, which is, I think, just a way of them paying less than I might charge for a direct order. But no matter, it's work.

I think there's been more work (especially 4*) this last month than there has been for ages.

I'd apply to the well paid ones first and then any which cover topics you could write about easily. I'm on 5 teams in total and have only had any work through 3 of them, and you aren't obliged to complete any of the team assignments, so worth investigating them all, I'd say.

Thanks for the tip. It is reassuring that I will not need to take the articles if I am not comfortable with them.

Quite impressed with the speed of payment. Money arrived in my PayPal account at lunchtime :)

Also, wrote my first article for Constant Content last week, used it as a trial. 800 words and priced it at $35, it sold in only 5 days. That looks like that may be very worthwhile as well :)

That's great! I keep meaning to submit my first one to CC. What did you write about?

I use textbroker for articles every now and again.

I have bought 3 star and 4 star articles.

The first 4 star i bought was ok, nothing ground breaking.

The 3 star articles i have bought appear to be the better ones.

I think i prefer the cost of the 3 star articles best. Overall it seems that you get the best value for money and your article is generally written by someone looking to move up to the four star category.

But as a buyer if i pay for a 3 star and get 4 star quality i am still only going to rate the writer 3 star because i don't want them to move into the expensive category :money:
Interesting POV. However it is actually Textbroker's rating that determines the writer's stars. It doesn't look like they take much notice of the clients' ratings.

I think you're right though that there's not much difference between 3 and 4 star writers. The disadvantage is probably that you will just get newer writers picking up the 3 star articles, who might not be as accustomed to writing.

I wrote an article about marketing :)

I think I will be doing some more over the weekend. They are very pickyabout grammar etc., but looks like it may be with it.
  • Currently working in a team order group and submitted an article this morning. I went to pick up another one and noticed an article in their list that I thought I'd already written.

Went back and checked my past submissions, and the one I'd written wasn't there. Luckily I keep a folder on my computer of all the articles I write, so checked that and yes, I have already written that one.

So it would appear that my previous submission has been rejected - which annoys me slightly as I didn't have any revisions come back. What to do about that? These articles are 1,500 words so take me a few hours of hard work to get right, having them rejected is no nice thing. I've picked up the same article again with the intention of resubmitting the one I've written, with perhaps a few minor tweaks. Is it worth emailing the client and asking what happened? This hasn't happened to any of my other articles for them, btw.

Is there a system on TB that tells you when a direct order has been rejected like there is on normal submissions?

I don't know the answer to your question, but it does seem surprising that your order has just disappeared. I'd certainly send a message to the client. The woman that's checking these orders seems pleasant, from the limited contact I've had so far. I'd ask her what's happened, it might just be a technical glitch?
