Textbroker - Writing for money (not vouchers)

I had a level 4 status on the UK version of Textbroker and had been at that level since 2014.
After having assignments rated 4 for over a year the last one I wrote got rated 0. Now I have been demoted to a level 0 which means I can't write any content on there whatsoever.
I have not had my account suspended and I received no email telling me that my status had been reduced to nothing. In the past I always got an email from textbroker whenever a client accepted an article (or asked for a revision) and whenever textbroker rated it.
I knew that they were going to change the way they rated things on the 1st of June, which is today, due to a recent email I received. Rating would depend on the last assignment evaluated rather than on the average of the last five articles. I'm guessing my 0 rating has simething to do with these new changes.0 -
Speaking of the Romanian translation job, I did a job of critiquing a piece of work in Romanian. Despite the fact that I used Google Translate I believe I saw the correct number of errors in the article. But then the client complained that I hadn't learnt Romanian. What did they expect for the money? That job was on there weeks after that.Advent Challenge: Money made: £0. Days to Christmas: 59.0

There was a message on their site saying many authors had experienced the same problem with their rating as me.
In the end they restored my 4 star rating but their new system discourages me from writing anything for them because I don't fancy getting demoted on the grounds of one article not being up to scratch while the others were fine.
I think this new move is an example of them pandering to their low-paying, cheap-skate customers who want something for nothing. These people tend to want want top-notch, premium-quality work of the highest order but they don't want to pay for it.0 -
Despite being at 2 stars, I managed to create a bankable amount this week.Advent Challenge: Money made: £0. Days to Christmas: 59.0

Strange, I've not seen any 2 star assignments on there whatsoever.
I've seen the odd 4 star assignment turn up here and there plus the occassional bulk order for level 3.0 -
I'm really interested in giving this a try but I can't think at all what I could put in as my writing sample! What sort of topics/styles did you all use? I can write quite well (I think) given a subject/task/brief, but I'm really stuck on something so broad. Help appreciated

irnbru23 - I've recently submitted a piece which I did on a place/sightseeing, though I wrote is as more like a travel piece to potential visitors (rightly or wrongly...!)
Received a 3 star rating, which admittedly I was a tad disappointed with, so I was hoping to write some articles and hopefully move up a star at some point. However, there don't seem to be any jobs. I've checked at different times of the day, on different days, this week; I've gone to 'Assignments' and searched with empty criteria fields in the hope of bringing up anything available, but there's absolutely nothing. Is that normal, or am I stupidly doing something wrong? Would be grateful if anyone could advise.... Just Keep Swimming ...0 -

You've been registered there since 2012 ? So that's 4yrs ago now.
And you haven't had consistent work for decades ?
