I tend to think that it would be easier to sell things with names on children's stuff. My daughter was given a hairbrush and mirror when she was born, with her name on. Her name is not a standard English name so you don't tend to get ready-printed stuff.

It is also the sort of thing that I may buy at a school fete, or church fayre, or village funday but I wouldn't go to someone's house to collect it, unless it was a gift of approx £25's worth and it was recommended by someone I knew.

I agree with comments about spelling and punctuation, but I wouldn't be so fussy about alignment unless it looked really odd.

You are picking on her. I'm assuming 1978 refers to your year of birth. As I said very mature. I hope you're proud of yourself.

You assume wrong. There we go.

I don't care whether the OP is 11, 21 or 71, spelling, grammar/punctuation etc are important. If she wants to waste money then her way is fine. If she wants to make money she's going to have to do better.

Wrapping ADULTS up in cotton wool does them no favours, you know.

I also agree with sugar coated owl that mildred is being unnecessarily discouraging.

Perhaps the OP isn't as good at spelling, grammar and punctuation as you are. Some people really are ill-mannered.

well, good luck Jade. This would be the sort of thing that some friends of mine may like, but probably from a craft fair or simelar.Does your church hall hold summer fayres etc where you could get a stall and then put up a notice "Any name made to order, wedding anniversary or simelar"quite sweet, just not everyones taste and 10/10 for trying-just keep practicing and dont be put off.Which part of uk are you?:)

To be honest, I can't see anyone coming to you to buy the rolling pin. Best thing to do is to get a stall in a craft fair. However, having been to several recently, although there are definitely a lot of people making and selling, most stalls were dead.
To be even more honest, I can't see many people wanting to put up a minature rolling pin up in their kitchen- its almost childlike. What about door signs? Or- the one thing that is selling right now- cupcakes? You can use your decorating skills there.

Then perhaps making things with words and phrases isn't the right job for her ;)

Where did you come up with that idea? Presumably you saw them selling somewhere, so you know their is a market? It just seems a little random to me, but i doubt im your sort of customer - if i need to flatten something im cooking, i wrap a wine bottle in clingfilm!
was the bottle full or empty-if full do you need assistance to empty it?:D

Need food hygiene qualification, public liability insurance and an approved kitchen to be able to sell cupcakes (or other homemade food).
