I don't think saying 'I hate tat like this' is particularly helpful. Try saying something constructive instead.

I also don't see the appeal of that. However to be constructive I would suggest finding another sort of craft to try and sell.

The minimalist look is very popular now, clean tidy lines, stainless steel utensils, everything clean and tidy. Putting a dust magnet on the wall, has I suspect, a very limited appeal. Its the sort of thing you might splash a few pounds on at a stately home after a glass of wine and a good lunch- and then instantly regret it when you get home.

I agree that it is the sort of craft one would expect as a present from a child to their gran.

I'm sorry but that is brutally honest- the only sort of crafts now that seem to have a market are disposable things- things you use for a while and then chuck away and buy again. Home made pot pourri that you can display for politeness sake , home made cards (but the market there is so saturated you'll barely cover costs), small keepsake items suitable for a baby gift (but a gift to the mother, not the baby otherwise you end up with the whole horrible baby bling scenario)

Hmmm I disagree the craft-market is huge at the moment. So many people both young and old are making and selling. You can do a search for things like this on sites such as Etsy and folksy and you will see for yourself.

I hate tat like this. Especially when grammatically incorrect! (Should be an apostrophe in Jade's ;))

I far prefer the OP's manners though, while I don't like the product, at least that poster shows class.

Having looked at the item (and compared it with the other pic in this thread), not only is the apostrophe missing, the text isn't centred - too far off to the right :(
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Perhaps it's not perfect but then art and craft doesn't need to be perfect. I don't think we should be picking faults in someones art work. Perhaps. you could have said something like...why not try placing the text slightly to the left that might increase your sales.

Sorry if I'm jumping to the OPs defense all the time but it annoys me when people pick faults in someones art work and doesn't offer constructive critisism.

Surely the constructive bit was obvious? Don't spell it wrong, use the right grammar and make sure it's centred!! Not rocket science!!

The OP is obviously a lot younger than you are and you're picking on her for her art. That's really mature. Some people on this forum make me so cross.

    A) I'm not picking on anybody

    B) what has age got to do with it?

    C) art?! :rotfl:

    D) the OP is attempting to sell the things. Wonky, misspelt, non-grammatical things don't generally sell well. Honestly, it's very basic. Let's hope she's got her head around the self employed tax aspect of it. ;)

It's not just the owls you want sugar coated, is it?

You are picking on her. I'm assuming 1978 refers to your year of birth. As I said very mature. I hope you're proud of yourself.
