  • I agree with a lot of the comments on here, the constructive ones any way! I too wouldn't buy one of these, only because I am trying to save money, but I do think there is a market for things like this. Yes, it does need to be refined but I think personalising it is the way to go and definitely offer to post them, you cant expect customers to collect from you.
I would try craft fairs and markets and definitely Etsy, but offer to do different colours and write people's names or something they would like for gifts etc. Hope that helps!
  • There definately is a market for handcrafted items, i made £120 last week selling my wares on facebook and ebay, best thing you can do is research, look for current trends and things that sell, then research what you want to make and find your USP (unique selling point) shabby chic and vintage are hot right now, so maybe aim your products at that market? Then set yourself up with a selling page on facebook, you are unlikely to get many sales if you sell just one item, so figure out what else yoou can make, also give postage prices, people rarely collect.

There is money to be made and plenty of buyers prefer homemade but you need to put your everything into it and go that extra mile.

Have you actually checked out sits such as Etsy where people do make and decorate this kind of thing?

Yes, to a much higher standard. And even then, just because they're on Etsy doesn't mean they're *selling*.

Did you not read where I said have you checked the sellers feedback rating?
