Of these ""with 49 actually appearing in front of a judge in 2011."" I wonder how many succeeded.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    Only the undefended ones.

So that could be anything from 0 to 49. Even if it was only 50% (25) that increases the 350,000 : 1 to 700,000:1

  • Absolutely first class dismemberment of the Thieves Guild that the BPA is.

Martin Cutts for PM, hes about the only sane sensible civil servant ive ever encountered.

Thanks, but no risk of me ever being a civil servant. May try for PM.

The defendants seem to have won 25 out of 49.

  • It would be interesting to hear what percentage actually pay these things immediately or later on, and other outcomes.

Looks like 65-70% pay up sooner or later.

I would like to see the 2.5 pages of excuses by the dvla/BPA and excel

These excuses are summarised on page 56 of the article Orford mentions below at 10.53am. They are given in full on the BBC website for Watchdog, 19 April 2012, about Excel Parking Services. I'm not allowed to give the url here.
