I ran London this weekend, and the only female toilet facilities at the start were (waist-height, facing each other) urinals, quite amusing when the average female has no idea what they are meant to do. (I spend a lot of time outdoors wearing a harness so have learnt the hard way how to pee without undoing it or pulling down trousers
).
OMG I just googled these - how grim! How are you supposed to dry yourself after?
I actually have reoccurring nightmares about needing a pee and finding the only toilets near me have no doors and I'm too embarrassed to go. Urinals aren't for me!0 -

Edit: I wonder what would happen if I actually found a toilet? I might wake up to damp sheets! :eek:0 -

With practice you don't normally need to wipe. But before a marathon, everyone is covered in bodyglide or Vaseline, and really do NOT want accidental wet knickers so it was a little unkind to only provide urinals. I overheard a lot of people saying they weren't going to "go" in there! They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Forgive my interupting the wee-talk
but I've a safety notice for those who have the little brick rocket stoves: after a horrid winter, I fired mine up this morning and a lot of the bricks have shattered pieces off (due to the damp soaking in and being forced out too fast by the sudden heat). Luckliy it was mainly internal BANGs but shrapnel could get nasty.
Not sure how you'd avoid it though?
Also I'm an idiot. Thought "Ooo lovely day for washing" and put machine on. Then thought "Ooo, lovely day to cook with fire". Forgetting that my stove and my washing line occupy the same space. Ooopsie...
PS - thank you for all the kind thoughts, I have a reprieve on the job/money crisis for now, so carrying on with garden/rabbits/quail as planned0 -
Asda are selling something called "Eko Fuel" (actually Bio Ethanol), for use in small table top heaters.
Could I use it in my home made, Trangia type Spirit/Meths Stoves?0 -
I have come to share a small piece of progress in life and have had to share here as no-one I know in RL would appreciate this....
I have just built up our new bed (was meant to have arrived & been assembled before DH went into hospital but the legs were out of stock....ho hum) and I now have......UNDERBED STORAGE ROOM:T:T
While I was still in the process of building the bed I'm wondering what would be suitable to keep under there - and suddenly I wondered if I was mad - then I remembered all of you & realised I am not mad - just different from most people in RL.
I can't talk the talk about nail varnishes, fashion labels or the latest style in home decor and I am beginning to get right royally Pd off at the number of people who think I am the local drug stockist in my work (seem to think my basic emergency supply is office based) but I am happy that I could cope in a crisis and would be able to look out for me & mine.
Anyway - revelation & rant over - hospital visiting calls
Any suggestions for the best place to get underbed storage (so excited it's unreal:D)Debts 07/12/2021

Yes, its usable in trangia stoves, though how well it performs depends on what they've added to it. The one I tried was a predominantly blue flame with odd yellow bits and fairly soot free (the bluer the flame the less impurities) I'd try very hard to avoid getting any of these on your fingers - they contain Bitrex, not what you want on your hands when preparing food.

Thanks for the warning nuatha.
Of course, Methylated Spirits (which I'm currently using in my stoves) also contains it.0 -

Latest figures in China are now 109 cases and 22 deaths.
Just glad it is still in China but as there are some fancy exhibitions and trade shows coming up attracting people from lots of other countries
I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Looks as if quite a few countries are dusting off their flu plans just in case.

I think GreyQueen made up her own underbed storage using plywood, beading to make an edge and then screwed castors underneath. Should be cheaper and made to measure."This site is addictive!"
