So sorry to read of your loss vanoonoo :(

Because I'm in my early 30's with 2 small children, already lost everything to do with finance, not least our home, I find it difficult to think negatively about the future. Throughout time there have been struggles for the working class, I actually think I live in luxury compared to my great grandmother.

I do have worries, of course I do but this my life, my one life and I'm determined to squeeze all the fun out of it that I can. Preparations, plans and knowledge all come into play but most of it is outlook on life and positivity.

Strive to triumph against adversity ;)

You're so right, fuds, even though we're now on a really tight budget, it's still more than I had when I first married and more than my parents managed on and grandparents too.

Vanoonoo, so sorry to hear you've lost your beloved doggy, hugs to you both, glad that you were with her at the end. (((hugs to you)))

2tonsils - you said something about feeling like something was going to happen, you're not the only one! I've felt a bit like that for ages, but can't decide if it's cos I'm depressed, a bit fey cos of the Scottish blood, or cos I'm away with the faeries sometimes! :rotfl:

Oh Vanoonoo so sorry to hear of your loss. I am pleased you were able to be there at the time. Hugs, remember the happy times with your little darling.

Yes the Russian influence in Cyprus is quite scary, we went out of season to Aiya Napa and even the the latent gang culture was scarily evident , guns in trouser waist bands (preferable to seeing pants although there were those to!) muscle Mary's lording it about. Talk about bling! Taste has no place there.

Prostitution worse in Larnaca as near the army base and port ..... We like Cyprus as a place, but the culture and friendly side of life is being eroded. To everyones detriment I think.

It's been a rubbish sort of a day so far.. :D
Today I decided that to make room for the stashing, the hoarding had to go. My house isn't big enough for both. Plus it's a step towards selling up.
Well I've made a start (baby steps and all that ;)) including confronting the local bastion of male superiority which is my local tip. Why do I always feel as though I'm going to be given lines or be made to sit on the norty step if I put the wrong stuff in the wrong skip?
Anyhow I divided the spoils between them and Sue Ryder. So now if a bus load of Japanese tourists arrives unexpectedly for tea - I'm sorry but you will have to share plates!
It's definitely good for the soul - this 'de-cluttering'. Unfortunately there's a lot more where that came from :(
