Im obviously sad as I was pleased to see a reply from Docky
Its very windy here but not too chilly although I have only been as far as the bins.
Mini crisis weekend when we realised the little river of water in the kitchen wasnt a spill but a leak  I was worried it was the washer but thank goodness its not. It would seem that when I pour something down the kitchen sink not all the water went outside, and now none of it goes down the grid but comes sploshing into the kitchen. I took off the base board which was siliconed on - dontcha just love the LL's workers - and we had a tiny wave pour in. Its hard to re-programme your brain to empty coffee dregs into a jug and not just pour down the plughole. Its also flipping hard work to bale out the bowl when you wash up, I can't lift the bowl when its full and tip it outside due to my wonky shoulders.
Its not a major crisis more a change of everything you do automatically. Actually points out one thing - how we take simple things for granted like drains and water. I am managing to use very little water to do tasks to make the disposal easier which would be important if SHTF and we no longer had running water. I now have a very clean kitchen floor and a totally empty sink top and worksurface ready for the plumber, it looks very nice and I should do it more often:)Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

Are they that bad where you are? I saw they were hurricane force at the top of the Cairngorms but didn't realise it was that bad so close to Edinburgh.
Pretty bad here too. Looking at the sea from my window and it's flinging itself onto the road. Ferries all cancelled and horizontal hail storms.....The school run should be fun. Power is off and on which is a pain when you're trying to work on the computer.0 -

Rays Weather Page Ireland
***SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS***
A very strong and vigorous jetstream over Ireland during the first half of this week.
Wind
Very strong winds expected between now and Wednesday. Tonight Northern Ireland (especially North Coasts) and Scotland will see extremely windy conditions. Winds could become damaging. Scotland will take a severe battering.
Tomorrow the strong winds will spread southwards but won't be as strong as those that will hit Scotland in the next 18 hours. However winds will have the potential to cause some destruction or damage especially in the North and East on Tuesday afternoon. Due to wind direction, trees and some structures may that have withstood strong westerly winds may be more vunerable to northerlies.
Severe Windchill
A cold N/NW airflow will engulf the Country early this week and while actual temps will not be severely low, but exposure to the very strong winds will make it feel several degrees lower creating a severe wind chill. Livestock farmers and pet owners need to be aware of this where early spring lambs, other farm animals and pets are concerned. 0 degrees and strong wind is not something any animal should be exposed too !
Showers and Snow
Bands of wintry showers will be pushing down across the Country from time to time and while temps are a little to high in the daytime hours, snow may settle at night. Winds could become very blustery and conditions extreme in the showers and its certainly not the type of thing you want to be caught out in the open in.
Blizzard conditions will occur in heavy snow showers and any lying snow at night will drift.
Black Ice
Places where surfaces are wet will freeze over quickly at night in the strong winds where air temps drop to 0 or below. Ice will not be easy to spot as winds will prevent white frost from forming. Roads that look wet could be actually glazed in ice, so watch out for this.
Any slush from wintry showers will also quickly glaze over at night.
Northern half of the Country will take the worst of the showers but all places will be at risk from time to time and it looks as if the SE will fair out best from these.
Hail and thunder in the mix is also very possible.
Thanks for the update, much appreciated as I'm in the wilds on County Antrim, could be a cold wet and wind night here. Let's get the wood burner going!! :cool:0 -

Yes, I got the name on a local forum....I was having a go at someone for making fun of someone else who had been robbed and another poster on the forum said to me....''with a voice as loud as yours you must still have both tonsils!''........lol.......I changed my screen name to 2tonsils after that and it sort of stuck ......:rotfl:“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. Glad the weather warnings helped...I can't believe the met office, bbc and sky all play it down so much....it makes sense to warn people so they can be prepared for what is to come. What about all the disabled people, pensioners and families with little children...they NEED to know in advance so they can be ready with plan B just in case plan A will no longer work in the circumstances. I am friends with a lot of the amateur forecasters and storm chasers and they send me early warnings so I can pass the word on. I have to say, the latest weather maps look pretty scary for the next few days! My friends study the weather maps done by computer, satelite images and other information and try to predict well in advance. The European computer models are coming in spot on lately!
Have a warm day here 16 degrees with a gentle breeze from the south. There is some cloud but the sun is breaking through now and again. It was horrendously windy over the weekend, mostly during the night. Still having the odd earth tremor here, it brought down part of the mountainside by the main road yesterday...they had scooped up most of the earth but the rocks were absolutely huge from it. Its just down the road from us. Greece had five earth quakes yesterday so its rockin and rollin......“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0
