I think we may just have invented the Order of the Bat ladies, perhaps it should become the symbol of prepping and we should all wear a small Bat on our lapel when having a meetup so we all know who to look out for?
But I do like the idea of the badge. A shop assistant asked me if I was going camping the other day (on account of the water purifying tabs etc). I could simply flash my badge and say mysteriously 'No I belong to The Order of the Bat' :rotfl:0 -
A 'not so Secret Society' Pineapple? count me in for one!!! It sounds AnkhMorporkian to me!!!!!
Jumble sale was a little sparse this morning, I suspect no one can afford to get rid of a perfectly good thing that isn't this years colour any longer. I aquired a nice little water carafe for 20p, a pair of brass candlesticks for DD1 for 20p, a M & S serving tray with 3 different sized compartments for 20p, a Budget Cookery Book for 30p and a Birds in your Garden book for DD1 for 30p, not a bad haul but I think I had the best of it. I noticed lots of older folks going through the clothing looking for warm things, a sign of our times I think, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -

Thank you Lyn, my damsons made a full recovery in a sterilised jar!Normal people worry me.0 -
So relieved HOBSONS, so glad it wasn't an epidemic, and delighted you have made a full recovery, I've heard of people keeping gallstones in a jar, but really DAMSONS!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope they're on the mantlepiece in full view!!! Cheers Lyn, aka BATTY 2 xxx,(and today, living up to it!!!)0

My damsons were "jammed" into a jar and now reside happily in a cupboard.
Once stashed away in this manner, all was good. Bit like burying a steak to get rid of warts (then digging it up again for supper).
Not that I'm batty at all......lalalalal.....
Off to the libary for books, then the sweetie shop for chocolate.
That's my prepping done then!Normal people worry me.0 -
Is that a recipe from Nanny Oggs Cookbook?? Steak a la wart!!!!!0

Have been reading/lurking this thread for ages, can I join you guys? DH and I both share a SHTF prepping mentality - he's currently trying to source a genny, convinced we need one, guess it would help run the freezer full of food!
I have random stores of random things which I really need to organise (or we will be living of canned coconut milk and beans in the event!)... some great advice here, love the way you guys think!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hello RAGZ - come on in and join us, it's always nice to have new friends to play with, have you got a bat badge? Cheers Lyn xxx. (p.s Bat badge not compulsory, but we'll all be jealous if you've got one) x.0
