Has anybody seen good cheapish coal bunkers - or things that would do as one - anywhere?

:rotfl:Loving the hunky men drooling!:rotfl: How many of you are picturing them stripped to the waist chopping logs for your log burners?:rotfl:

I know we have strict rules on this thread ie. how long you can keep chocolate safely (15 minutes seems to be the rule of thumb before it turns), knowing how many toilet rolls qualify you as a prepper etc etc but I need to know am I allowed to think about half naked men splitting logs if I dont have a log burner? :D

And why is Sean Bean always always out of breath, even when he is stood still , bad chest? it really put me off an otherwise ogle -some ( is this a word?) bloke.

Sorry to pose so many questions so early in the day, will get off and polish my paracord :)

:D I don't have a woodburner (sob) so my half-naked fantasy men would be swinging their mattocks on the allotment (fnarr, fnarr).

I have 44 loo rolls and a 100 meters of paracord (the army surplus cut me a sweet deal :o)

BTW, 15 mins is pushing it. I find the BB dates on chocolate translate as just as soon as I can get home and put the kettle on to have tea with my chocolate......can get that in 5.

Isn't it sad when gorgeous men become puffy and bloated from "hard living" Saw a photo of Sean Bean in the paper the other day and you would not know from that how gorgeous he used to be. Sad.

Showing my age here but for me, no-one beats a young Paul Newman
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Some of those comments really made me giggle...naughty girls... re Johnny Depp.....the guy I talk to who does the long range forecast looks very like J D. In fact , people get very rude to him on the site accusing him of not putting his own photo on it. If I can find my link to his site I will add it to this page.

I am fine, went for the scan last night on my thyroid and there is no change and no sign of it turning cancerous which is very good news for me. I don't need to go back for the next scan and check up till late July of next year. He couldn't believe how good my blood pressure is, checked it three times then asked if I had actually eaten (at which point my OH curled up laughing and said ....you try stopping her eating lol).

Things are quiet here but then I am up on the mountain in a village and the sun is out...so all my neighbours are working their allotments/vineyards/picking olives/tending sheep at this time of year. I heard there are going to be big demonstrations in the cities in Greece today and tomorrow but our ''town'' is not that big really. The last time there was a demonstration there it started raining and they all went home on the bus.....

They can't do that today as the taxis/buses/all public transport, offices, some shops, tax office and court , along with doctors, are all on strike for the next two days.

We filled the oil lamps and they are both fine so pleased at just 1.99 each. I bought a battery operated little radio yesterday for 5 euros and the reception and sound are really good and I got a free pair of headphones that would have cost me 3 euros anyway that I can use with my computer.

When I called to buy the radio we noticed the supermarket (Italian) had catering size tins of loads of things, baked beans, mushrooms, tinned fruit, tinned butter beans in sauce, onions in tomato sauce, dolmades and loads of others, so this week I am going to stock up on some. My other half gets to know all the early warnings I get on the political/weather/world events that happen and he suggested getting loads of the cans and he will stock them on top of the kitchen cupboards for me and in the cupboard under the stairs. If the SHTF we are going to move our stash of food up into the loft, which would actually be a great place to hide as well.

Off to hang out my second load of washing... making the most of the electric while we have it, you never know with the rolling power cuts...
