That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

What stunning words!!!
I must admit, as most of you know by some of my previous posts I do stress and panic about this ngs which are out of my control.. Re terrorist attacks etc..
Well we had the quail the other night, just roasted them and ate as is, if a restaurant served me half of one, I wouldn't be very happy lol..
It's was OK.. To me it tasted like a strong tasty chicken.. But it was hard work trying to pick the meat off them..
I don't know what happened but our dog was going bananas when we were eating it, and normally she is very good and waits until we have finished our food..
Will be taking the rabbit out of the freezer to try that in the next few days!!Work to live= not live to work0 -

Which was what I meant about fiddly work referring to quail. I've found that not being so precise about stripping the carcases and then turning them into stock, makes getting the last of the meat off the bones far easier, the last pickings get frozen as I go and when there's sufficient I generally use them in a game pie, though quail scotch eggs work well.
Rabbit I prefer as a casserole (generally with a pie crust).0 -
Watching Euronews this morning as the BBC seem to be fixated on the death of George Martin which sad as it is seems to be worked in to every interview on every other subject. It's said on Euronews that Greece will return all illegal and unauthorised migrants to Turkey and that for every migrant returned Turkey will release one Syrian refugee currently in Turkey to travel to Europe. It frankly terrifies me at just who will come under those arrangements. Of course some genuine refugees fleeing from what is the hell that Syria has become will be coming and that is a right and just thing but the potential for getting it wrong is gigantic isn't it?
LILLIBET you'd let HWK loose with matches??? what are you thinking woman he'd be lethal!!! Likes a good bonfire does HWK!!!0 -
On the positive side, Lyn, the policy is likely to help some of those refugees who could never in a million years face the illegal crossing of the Med and all the hardships of the land journeys. We shouldn't make obtaining refugee status dependant on Iron Man levels of fitness and endurance (or willingness to take insane risks with your own life and that of your children).
A pal who was on Corfu in October with his family told me that they could see a lot of the refugees there and, with very few exceptions, they were all young men.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Did anyone see the pair of documentaries on Greece by Simon Reeve? The first one was mainly centred around the refugee crisis, not so much the history. It was filmed in high summer, so the sea was calm, and they filmed several dinghies coming in. He talked to one family, the husband was a media professional (I think, I watched this last month) - Simon was in tears at the end, they were just decent folk trying to safeguard their children.
Then the film crew drove back to the local town, and they saw two just-arrived women refugees on their own, with a child. And they gave them some water, and then gave them a lift. They wanted to drive them into the town, but the next shot was of Simon, still on the outskirts, with a very upset look on his face. As he'd driven along, with the two women and the child in the back seat, they'd come across the male family members with whom the women had made the crossing. And those men forced the women out of the car, and to start walking again, because they hadn't asked permission to get into the car.
So many thoughts running through my head on that scene ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

It *is* tender, CTC, but it needs addressing, respectfully to all concerned.
Got to prepare for work, can't stay, and we need to be both respectful and delicate of phrasing ... my brain is more or less consumed at the moment with a hospice visit (and the friend I'm going to see was Moslem at one stage, taught the Koran to pre-schoolers ... she's too ill now to talk about stuff at this level tho).2023: the year I get to buy a car0
