I do have vit e oil capsules here already. so old I forget what I got them for. that will save me money if that works.
total costs incurred of one description or another probably around £22 to date - inc. medicinal brandy and wine.
just had to take painkillers on top of that. oh well...it seemed necessary to deal with upset feelings before I dealt with upset body iyswim..
I could have handled this rather better if I was the one causing accident to myself - just letting fly and calling myself every name under the sun. Instead of biting tongue - hard. My guardian angel has had a right non-verbal lambasting as to why they were apparently off-duty - yep.. I do believe in things like that (well I did....)0 -
Anyone used this stuff? Is it any good, and are there any downsides?

MSTTM this is a preppers forum... if you get into such a state with a cut finger then it does not bode well for when the SHTF, does it!! Re keeping a finger dry, I just cut up a plastic bag -ie bread wrapper- and sellotape it on for as long as nec then remove it.
That's a good idea frugalsod ta0 -
You can buy the cheap disposable gloves from a cheap shop. They are the type you get in a hair dying kit. These are quite big, so would cover a standard size dressing. But would need to be taped or any elastic band around the wrist area.
I don't think I have heard of a normal Drs surgery doing stitches before?? Cottage hospitals and normal hospitals yes ..
I would personally listen to what they said in the hospital , and once I t has healed. See what type of scare is there, and then start using stuff to try and reduce it.
Soooo can't wait for spring to be here.. The odd couple of nice but cold days have really lifted the spirits..Work to live= not live to work0 -
When you've had your lady bits and muscles beneath them restitched at 24 and then a 4 inch C section scar at 28 you kind of get over having scars. We all get scars and I like to look at them as badges of survival. We would die if it wasn't for scarring. A scar is nothing if you choose for it to be meaningless.
Hope you're over the shock today.0 -

one of the reasons I never wanted children fuddle:eek: I had already read some accounts of that sort of thing (and had strong suspicions the childless aren't told the half of it).
I must admit I am so thankful personally that I don't want them - and am therefore not "in line" for risk of that sort of health problem.
I count myself fortunate that my last school did tell us a noticeable amount of info about it. That was one of the three best lessons that school did as I recall. There was also teaching about contraceptives and a film about childbirth. An other one being to teach us to analyse adverts with a cynical eye. It was a pretty progressive school in many ways.:)0 -
Progressive to tout the end of man
MITSTM I have some scars and have some unpleasant experiences but I have 2 children that continually enable me to grow as a woman. It's hard work being a parent and I would be more relaxed, less lines around my eyes and be free to do as I wish without my mini-me-and-hims but I have to question, for me at this stage in my life, what would the thing that gets me up and motivated on a morning. I am what I am vecause I'm a mam, wife... heck even I'll own my housewife badge. My job is to nurture my own.
Good teaching re: qquestioning though. My teaching was about credit cards and what APR meant in the mid 90's.0 -
Totally agree FUDDLE parenting is a full on, full time job that lasts 25 hours a day and never ends even when your children have grown up, left home and flown on strong wings to the lives of their own making. I've never found anything as much hard work, as all consuming, as emotional, as rewarding and as much satisfying as being Mum, I'm privileged to have been a part of making two such amazing humans as my girls and wouldn't have not had the gift of them for anything you could have offered instead. If I hadn't had my children I'd have missed out on the friendship of 2 of the best people I've ever been lucky enough to know, the third being dear old He Who Knows who is my best friend and always there to share the silliness that is me!!!!!0

Nobody can 'teach' you about the personal journey of being pregnant and child birth. I didn't have stitches, but did have a small tare.
It was the type of pain once it stopped, it stopped. With our first, within minutes of having him. I asked hubby when can we have the next one..( he was shocked lol)
Yes nothing fully prepared you for it., and kids can drive you mental on times with stress etc.. BUT.. I wouldn't change a thing.. And go to hell and back for them.
The only thing I say sometimes is that I worry about the world children are being born into..Work to live= not live to work0
