Long time lurker just to let you know personal tax rates are quite high in the south of Ireland, Corporate tax rates are low which is what Google and Amazon enjoy not its citizens unfortunately.

There's a lot being wrote about it at the moment. Google has a lot of links to papers and articles.

Thanks fuddle - those two papers both mention inflammation in the brain, which calmed me a little - I have bits of arthritis everywhere, and its called an inflammatory disease, so .... :eek: for a moment there. None of the women in my family have got dementia so far, though all the men over 70 did

Re dementia
There has been some Japanese research showing that doing brain exercises during physical exercise can help stave off deterioration in those showing early signs..
Which is why you will sometimes see Pineapple walking round the field with the dog while counting backwards or mumbling an alphabetical list of countries.

Meanmarie is talking about Ireland, Pineapple . The major additional cost of living there as I understand it is that medical care is not free at point of use and is quite expensive, though nothing by US standards

One thing the Irish have that we don't up here is a sense of humour. They can laugh
I'm back wondering if it's time to leave the RBS... been here so many times before and end up not doing it because it panics the RV but I think one day that's going to go..
