    Anyone a Pastafarian?
:) Nah, strictly Jedi. But I will be having pasta for supper, if that helps?

Does one have to observe any special rituals or shall I just cook it as usual?

  • I don't belong to a particular religion, a particular church and would be very uncomfortable saying things by rote on a particular day of the week to prove I was a faithful follower. I do however have a deep, abiding and everlasting sense of the love of God in all things. Every blade of grass, bird tweet, breath of breeze, warmth of the sun, my children and grandchildren, my friends, the things I have and think and do are here because they have been created as have all of us by a God that loves us unconditionally and does so whether we know of it or reciprocate it. How could you possibly take that and tie it up in a religion???

Well Ivy pet, I know yur not a halfwit lol... the ones who truly believe are the spiritual ones. But its an easy thing to get carried away with.. I think I talk to too many Americans over on fb lol. One poor girl is a medium. living in Alabama - and that sounds seriously scary. She has to keep everything so secret and is terrified word will get out.

Oh, the poor girl :( it usually seems to be religious fundamentalism , of any religion, that causes the problems.

Anyone hear about the four year old Star Wars fan who couldn't say his 'R's. (Think of Jonathan Ross.)

Walking past a toy shop his mum was mortified to hear him say in front of a crowd of shoppers:

    'Mummy, I just saw a Rancor.' :)

    Hello All

Yet again interesting discussion about religion. I was forced into C of E confirmation and afterwards never willingly went near a church for many years. Only now its hatchings, matchings and dispatchings!

My children strangely attend a Church of Wales primary school where good standards, manners etc are taught without any major religion being forced on the children. Considering my attitude to religion many of my family think it strange they attend this school. I am leaving the option open for my children to believe or not without forcing them into it. My elder child will be attending a Catholic secondary school where again good values are taught rather than strict observance of the catholic faith. I was worried about the teachinng of s*x education and guilt trips associated with Catholicism but it seems my worries were totally unfounded!

My grandfather had his own beliefs more akin to paganism than any other religion. he believed God was a corruption of the word good and Devil the same with evil. He believed in the power of good and the power of evil and that the balance of these powers was responsible for many events in the world and his life. Interesting belief!

Anyway I need to confess!! My "get home bag" has not been sorted or updated for ages and it is laying on the floor in my kitchen.. Its not in the boot of my car so if SHTF I can t get home til I sort it!!!

I think Pastafarians smoke something to help create an appetite. Though I could be confusing them with the Church of the Flying Spaghetti monster. :o

You are confused, a Pastafarian is a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Rastafarians may smoke a sacred herb which may have the side effect of inducing munchies.

    Good to "see" you.

My Pagan God-daughters attend a Roman Catholic school, it easily has the highest academic standards in the area. There's no problem with anything they teach - there's occasionally some interesting questions from the kids but their views are respected and encouraged by the school.

As I've been trying to sort stuff from the garage and workshop none of my gear is currently in the car (nor are the backseats) so you aren't alone in that one.Though currently I'm not more than 10 miles from home, so that's walking distance if it comes down to it.

:( Just waiting for the Police to arrive and throw the junkies out of the stairwell by my flat for the second time in 8 hours. Expect there will be some more paraphenalia to have cleared up, too. My council taxpayer £££££ hard at work.:(

Never mind, there will soon be pasta. I am slowly reducing my considerable holdings in the national pasta mountain range. Once I've caught up with the backlog, I can restock a little. Mebbe get some different shapes this time.

I suppose we all know that the teeny tiny pasta shapes (or fragments of bigger shapes) can cook in soup, which might be useful if all you have is boiling water. Top tip from a long-distance trailwalking pal of mine.
