My grandfather had his own beliefs more akin to paganism than any other religion. he believed God was a corruption of the word good and Devil the same with evil. He believed in the power of good and the power of evil and that the balance of these powers was responsible for many events in the world and his life. Interesting belief!

    Interesting?

    Very sensible, I'd say.

Does one have to observe any special rituals or shall I just cook it as usual?

Before eating, you must say grace, and prey to the Noodly one.

Though I could be confusing them with the Church of the Flying Spaghetti monster. :o

    It's the same thing.
  • I don't belong to a particular religion, a particular church and would be very uncomfortable saying things by rote on a particular day of the week to prove I was a faithful follower.

I don’t object to the concept of a deity, but I’m baffled by the notion of one that takes attendance.

:p I find it insolent that some religious types seem to think that a figment of their imagination should determine what other people do - even unto death in some terrible circumstances.

Perhaps religions should be viewed the same way as sex - to be conducted in private and certainly not in front of the children?

:D We've done this before and you know I'm not. Don't even recognise any alleged funnies from whatever it is you're on about.

  • Well, I am a proud Pagan! The word 'pagan' actually means 'a country-dweller' - which I am! No, I do NOT dance naked around bonfires but I DO live my life according to the seasons. My year is celebrated, not by Christmas and Easter, but by the equinoxes and solstices. I sow, plant and harvest according to the seasons and a walk in the forest with my beloved spaniels is my equivalent of 'going to church'. Paganism is a religion that you can SEE - you can't argue with the sun and the moon.

:( Just waiting for the Police to arrive and throw the junkies out of the stairwell by my flat for the second time in 8 hours. Expect there will be some more paraphenalia to have cleared up, too. My council taxpayer £££££ hard at work.:(

Never mind, there will soon be pasta. I am slowly reducing my considerable holdings in the national pasta mountain range. Once I've caught up with the backlog, I can restock a little. Mebbe get some different shapes this time.

I suppose we all know that the teeny tiny pasta shapes (or fragments of bigger shapes) can cook in soup, which might be useful if all you have is boiling water. Top tip from a long-distance trailwalking pal of mine.

What I find interesting with pasta is that, though you'd think "pasta is pasta", the different shapes actually taste different :)
