Anybody else here with RBS? seems to be a problem with digital banking, won't let me log in. This is the day my monthly money goes in too... gawd they better not have crashed with my pension ... I'm going up to take it out anyway at 9.
No problems here with RBS using my phone app, oh and just used my phone to pay for breakfast via Apple Pay and my contactless RBS cardIts not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0 -
Can I ask why you don't get your water metered if it would save you £40 a month?
£500 a year is a big saving.
The hot water is communally heated so impossible to meter. If I could switch I would. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
The one thing about Them being able to control my Smartphone - well, at least someone can! I have a theory that one of the reasons that people over 50 struggle sometimes with smartphones is that our skin is drier, and it doesn't recognise that we're tapping/swiping half the time. It's not that I'm doing anything different to my daughters, but that the phone responds differently to me.
Well, that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it.Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

That's interesting thriftwizard! I have dry skin these days and also find that often, when I tap, the phone is making the right noise but doesn't produce a letter on the screen. OH said he found giving the screen a good clean solved the problem for him, but it doesn't make any difference for me.
Saw in the paper at the weekend that someone is bringing out a phone that just makes calls and texts, and has keys, but looks much more up-to-date and has a decent-sized screen and a very long battery life. It's going to cost £229 though
I can't imagine how my DS would cope without his smartphone. He uses it for just about everything!0 -

Oooh, I like that idea, Ivyleaf, but I'd like it even more with a decent camera - that's the one feature I do use. I imagine that it will come down from £229; you can still get the little phones that just text & call for about £9.99, quite easily. OH & my mother have them, OH's bought very recently.Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

Only problem is that I have never been able to download photos from it. Maybe someone more tech savvy would manage that.0 -

My husband has told me that is why I am so useless with smartphones. Breathing on my finger seems to solve the problem.:rotfl:Sell £1500

If you are really paranoid this is the most secure phone out there.

£648 but everything is encrypted. This is the phone governments are afraid off because the encryption is not held at a central server and so suppliers cannot be strong armed into handing over the unencrypted data.
Personally I am not really that concerned plus I turn off all location tracking and if my phone was ever hacked it has nothing of interest on it.It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
