Though unless you have done something to worry about being hunted for, which I have not, then the likelihood of anyone actively searching for you diminishes significantly. Though considering that Osama Bin Laden was world hide and seek champion with a $25 million dollar prize for the winner shows that if you want to hide then you could do so if you had enough money or friends. You could always change your name to Jennifer Lawrence and hope that they struggle to find you through the billions of page results on Google.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
  • ..and then there's the just-met person you are out for a walk with somewhere rather remote - and they promptly inform you that the house you've just walked past is a Safe House - DUH!!!

Cue for me thinking "Its a good job I'm not anyone I shouldn't be then, isn't it?"

Or a good pair of tights ...

    Like these?

    square

Or a tea cosy like the guy on the right :rotfl:.

I def want to see this film http://www.convenience-movie.com/ I think it will become a classic.

It cost the filmaker (the guy in the left of the pic) £80,000 to make, I guess he is going to make a decent profit!

Thanks for that SB looks funny and as we have the 2 for 1 meerkat thingy may check it out at the cinema-both of us are self employed so we can go in the day which makes it easy to go to whilst the kids are at school/college and there are not many others in the cinema.

A friend has just posted his surprise at the accuracy of Google's geolocation tool. His smartphone does not have GPS, yet Google managed to place him mid channel between two Scottish islands.

All mobile phone locations are recorded by how they log in to transmitter towers. The data is held for at least 12 months but should be held for more than 24 months.
It has been rumoured that a number of smartphones don't actually switch off, but go to a deep standby, I've read about a remote wake up protocol for some phones, though I've no idea if this has made it into the real world. Non-smart phones only emit roaming signals when they are switched on, whether this applies to all smartphones is the subject of some conjecture. Phones with the battery removed aren't in a position to emit roaming signals, though the later Apple and latest Samsung's don't have removable batteries.
  • Wonder if they could find me in 'the room of doom' in our house lol

Just been trying to make a start in the dumping ground room.. Lol

I have heard that from my biker friends that regardless if your mobile is turned off they can still track you...

If you don't want big brother to follow you via phone, then I should imagine it would be best to buy cheap pay as you go phones and change them them and number at every top up.. And only do out going calls

  • I made the happy discovery last night that an old fashioned Household Candle (sold in packets of 6 from hardware shops) gives out much more light that several other candles/tealights put together. I had the household one on the dining table and it was giving good enough light to read by, the rest of them were dotted about the room and gave light to see by but nothing like the quality of light of the old fashioned one. I have several packs of household ones in store and will definitely get some more as they are NOT expensive. Of course in an emergency ANY candle/tealight is better than none but this was a noticeable difference!

I definitely need a load of these candles MrsL but I don't know where to get them. Ikea used to have them but don't now.

I thought they came in fours, so you could go and have fun asking for fork 'andles. :)
  • Got eny O's? Got eny Ps, they don't write 'em like they used to do they? Brilliant 2 Ronnies and I really think that's the funniest sketch they ever did!!! Miss them and their Zany shows!

MAR have you got an old fashioned hardware shop anywhere nearby? Places that sell garden tools, galvanised buckets etc, coal hods, matches, firelighters, brushes, brooms that type of thing would be likely to stock them. I got loads of them reduced when the Co Op shut and I've checked today and have 8 packs left in the storeroom. I don't think Ikea ones are as good.
