So sorry to hear that sad news Kittie xxxx
Someone asked about planting garlic cloves, I separate ordinary cloves and plant them in pots. The leaves grow really tall so I snip them off, using them a bit like chives when I am cooking. It really grew well all the way through last winter and spring here.
Lots of optimism still in Greece. We crossed one hurdle today when the ECB covered the Greek banks for a short time. It seems that Germany is doing all it can to stop us from negotiating in any way. We offered a compromise after the farce of Greece agreeing to one document and then finding at the next meeting it had been replaced by the Germans with something quite different. Meanwhile the Greek government is contacting everyone they can think of to get support and advice.
Herr Schauble sent yet another message to Greece today, telling us he should send five thousand tax inspectors to help us catch the tax evasion culprits...to which our prime minister replied that we would be glad of their help in catching the big boys and bankers and corrupt bribe payers to bring them to justice.....:rotfl:
The Siemens bribery case has been reopened and many new ones are on the cards. Apparently the defeated old government were so miffed at being ousted that they left many boxes of files full of dodgy contract details and implicating paper work.A new court has been set up to try corrupt officials, companies that offered bribes and other assorted criminals.:T
Each day brings fresh news and hope. Measures are already being brought in that are going to ease the situation for the very poor and the families who have really suffered due to the austerity.0 -
Thank you so very much for your wishes and support. We were married 45 years and it happened so suddenly, heart failure. A policeman came to my house to rush me to hospital. He was out and people were wonderful, so many kind people, we only ever hear the bad stuff, they used an air ambulance. The police were absolutely superb and so so kind, bringing me back home. I am in the first stages, last night was so hard, no tears just a bang banging heart all night because of the adrenaline
Today I have family here and they have taken over and I feel calmer. My neighbours in this tiny village have been outstanding, so much help and cuddles. Not hit me yet and I wish the tears would flow but they will and then my slow healing will start
Make wills, get affairs down on paper, it is so hard for the left behind one. He always said that he couldn`t cope without me and that when his time came that he wanted it to happen doing the sport he loved. He had his wish and for that I am eternally grateful0 -

I mostly lurk but just wanted to say I am very sorry for your loss, Kittie. xAbove all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and adventure.Oliver Sachs 20150

Yes, I know it's not a nice subject, but for about a fortnight I've been itching like mad. Legs, arms, belly, head, you name it. Fortunately not all at the same time.
My sheets are changed fortnightly, and my clothes every two days after bathing. I'm not using new detergent or soap.
The only thing I have changed recently is my diet. I have gallstones, so have to have a low fat diet. I'm now on skimmed milk & for meat, I can only eat chicken or fish, so have one or the other every night. I never used to eat these much previously. (Maybe once a week each.)
Although I buy my chicken & fish from Waitrose, I wonder if there are some chemicals in them that I am now getting a lot more of.
Any thoughts?0 -
I have gallstones (I think) and I itch too. My back mainly. And I changed my diet onto GF recently... odd.0
