 My head hurts! That's clever stuff. I was so green that when I joined MSE it never occured to me that people might have more than one username and be pretending. I saw references in posts to "AEs" and it was just one of the many abbreviations which I didn't get, so it was a long while before the penny dropped, so to speak, and when it did, I was baffled as to why anyone would bother.:rotfl:
I'm afraid what you get on MSE from GreyQueen is my real life and real character, anonymised to protect the innocent/ guilty (delete as appropriate) and if you knew me in RL you'd recognise me from my posts.
Since I wouldn't put stuff up here I wouldn't share in RL, I'm relaxed about that. Heck, I've 'fessed up about the tinned food (mainly but not exclusively tomatoes) under the bed and that's about as dark as my dark secrets go.:p
Now, my head hurts, it's getting late and if I stay online too much longer I'll have problems sleeping. Gonna have a cuppa and chill with a book.
Catch y'all later in the weekend. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Meme Romance is romance, at any age and no matter how long you have been together. The sort of romance you talk about, reading each other's thoughts and knowing each other so well is lovely, I know because it sounds like what I have with my DH.
Re. Kool-aid if you use it for dyeing wool, make sure it is not the Halal version because it does not work, a friend of mine found some in a market stall in Deptford and when she used it for her wool the colour just would not stick. It probably missed some chemical that is not considered Halal, maybe cochineal, that's made with insects (some sort of ladybird if you must know).
Interestingly, cochineal is what makes Campari red, but I pretend not to know about it and drink it anyway! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
And Kermes vermilio
Too much time spent studying 1000yr old dye substances! Not quite like a ladybird, it's a lump of residue stuff with the insect in it.
Sorry just got the brain working on insect type dyes. Purple comes from rotting shellfish (not sure which kind)Put the kettle on.0 -
Pops, I saw this on the news today ...
http://www.t3.com/news/amazon-launches-kindle-lending-library
The service will be called the Amazon Kindle Lending Library and, unlike a traditional library, will actually cost you a membership fee. You'll need to pay for Amazon Prime membership at £49 a year... and buy a Kindle, naturally.
I expect that the price will come down a bit as time goes on ...
Roughly £1 a week...interesting."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

2tonsills that news is quite disturbing, about the evacuation I mean. We dont get told a quarter of what goes on do we?
Mar is right we all need to get our heads down and prep. Hubby who is ex army and very interested in war histiry is fuming about Camerons spending 4 million on celebrations - talk about taking the mickey. personally I think we should make our own celebrations in a frugal fashion as they would have done then. And give the money to the ex servicemen and their families who are in a terrible state. Hope this doesnt upset anyone, its a very personal view.
I can see the point...it will I am afraid be used as a distraction just as the Olympics and Paralymics were..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
