I couldn't see the sunnan lamps online, but there were loads in Ikea Warrington when I was there last week (which I was glad about because I've wanted one for ages!)0 -

That's interesting.I'll phone my local IKEA.0 -
There were still Sunnan Lamps in Ikea Southampton a couple of weeks ago, they aren't out on display on the shelves but are hung up in one of the aisles in polythene bags. I couldn't find them when I wanted one and had to ask but they still had them on my last visit.0

I couldn't find them either - I should have checked with you, but went somewhat on the spur of the moment at the weekend...0 -
GREENBEE they are on your left as you enter the lighting department on the corner of the aisle but at chest level, not eye level and they only had white ones which makes them almost invisible against the white shelves and stands. I had to ask as I couldn't find them either!0

I've just done an online shop at Asda - the one where they give you a free £10, customers old and new
and if it happened to include cat litter, and lots of cocoa, and double the amount of dishwashing tablets and toilet rolls, well, I'm just stocking up for Christmas, aren't I?

To me flashlight and torch are interchangeable terms. What do you mean by flashlight?
I lend to refer to hand portable scene lighting as lanterns - ie designed to provide light across an area but these aren't generally what I'd be looking at carrying regularly (there's a couple in the cars).
Head torches - I use one that also has red leds for night use, it does less damage to your night sight. But if you use any sort of head torch get into the habit of not looking at the people you're talking to. Generally I won't use a torch for walking at night, there's nearly alays enough ambient light to see stuff you need to - whereas torches create very dark shadows and you can't see the branch that's about to poke you in the eye or the root that will break your ankle.
HTH
I'd say that its probably what you refer to as "hand portable scene lighting", ie lanterns. I'm picturing something quite big and thick, with a carry handle on the top.0 -

Thanks! We've started our power cut season again already - four in a row last Friday evening.
If there is anything left on the willow by tomorrow, you should come and take some cuttings soon.0
