Apparently a struck match is a very good way of ridding of bathroom smells.

Are you sure you want to be lighting matches in a bathroom, with all that methane in there? :D

*shudders remembering tracing paper toilet roll*

Hated that stuff, every girl dreaded going to the loo in our school :(

I love the smell of pears soap, sad I know, reminds me of my mum. TCP is odour of dad Lol his house still stinks of it now Lol

Well found a number of things in discount uk, flint fire starter £1, 150 rubber gloves 99p, in wilkos all seeds massively reduced so that's us ready for next year. If anything happens thought as part of preps get the seeds sorted for next year.

There is one smell which always break my heart, the smell mushy soaked peas and gravy. My mum (no longer with us) Sunday dinners.

Hurricane lanterns on sale in wilkos. Discount uk also had 2l hot water bottles for 99p.

They quite robust so good for hyper children and if say the heating went off.

    Totally agree.

Not only are they amazing creatures, but they help to keep the flies down.

I have several spiders living under my computer desk.

One is huge (about 2" long) and, every now and again, it runs across the floor.
Not just flies, but all insects. They are the greenest solution if you hate flies in your home. There are no toxic chemicals and a lot cheaper, as well as self sustaining and very eco friendly.

When I was at school if we ran out of tracing paper we used to be sent to the loos for the Izal toilet paper. It made quite good tracing paper, much better than the job it was intended for. :D

Horrible scratchy stuff. I would love to get a roll to show the school children I work with what we had to put up with when we were their age.

3 days without proper sleep.....got a unison meeting later on.....so relieved that i get paid while on the sick in the current environment of zero hours contracts etc. has anyone heard of "Civil Forfeiture" in America police are increasingly asking do you have over 5000 dollars on you..... if you have they can seize it on the mere suspicion it may be used for nefarious purposes. they have seized homes, cars etc not from criminals but normal civilians because its very dificult to prove your property is innocent......hope it never comes here

It's already here - it's called "The proceeds of Crime Act." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proceeds_of_Crime_Act_2002

The idea being of course that you can challenge it in court. Unfortunately since your money has been seized - good luck with paying for that.

And don't think about getting a loan for it, or you will be jailed: http://www.fishupdate.com/commentator-raises-plight-of-jailed-fishermen-fishupdate-com/

It sometimes blows up however: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1222777/The-raid-rocked-Met-Why-gun-drugs-op-6-717-safety-deposit-boxes-cost-taxpayer-fortune.html

The lesson being: Don't mess with genuinely rich people, they will find the money from somewhere. Everybody else is fair game.

Its a shame that TPTB never used this law against the banks for all their crimes. It would have eliminated the deficit overnight. Even the fines for PPI are so low that they have still profited from mis-selling. Now they probably regard getting caught and the fines as a cost of doing business and so will carry on regardless.
