I found it was cheaper to buy 25 x 1kg bags of sugar from the supermarket, than buy a 25kg bag of sugar from the wholesalers. I have noticed some shops are selling sugar as low ad 69p kg..think I need to find out which one it was, and buy a load..

Also I was watching the itv news earlier, and now I am really concerned with cameroooon's remarks on Russia etc.. Can someone give me their opinions on the way he is acting and saying.... It is starting to give me a nervous shiver..

starting to shop back in mr T's again, and trying to womble 2 recipts each time I shop lol....well points do make prizes...or in my case.. a few extra packs/tins to add to my prep stash

:) I'm sure I saw sugar at 69p/ kilo at the 99p St0re today, or rather, saw it on the big poster on their window as I went past. Thought that was the best price I'd seen for a while.

I bought a kilo of sugar in 1997 and I still have most of it............not a big sugar user in the kitchen, just have it for stray pals/ tradesmen who might like a sugary cuppa. HTH.

  • It occurred to me that part of dealing with the aftermath of a big disruptive event would be trying to maintain a modicum of normality

Be careful not to overdo it, otherwise you will stand out from the crowd, which will attract attention.

I have sugar for my dad. Admittedly I use it for baking too (or did, before I moved house and started living without the facilities normal people would recognise as being a kitchen) ... which actually causes problems because the sugar bowl is usually empty and he can't find the half-teaspoon he needs for his tea...

Thanks for your advice. I originally looked at the silver, because my finances can't allow me to make a huge purchase. Although looking at the gold the 1 gram bars look like a good deal. Thank you

Personally I would opt for the sovereigns no CGT. Though coins are better than bullion for most people.

:) I'm getting some tres foxy silver streaks in my barnet, Lyn. Like very expensive highlights, and all free thanks to mama nature. Ain't life wunnerful? If you hold out long enough on the CBA side of personal grooming and you get free hairdressing.

I also think I may have an Admirer, as a bloke from the lotties whom I have been to friendly greeting terms with, en passant, as it were, has come up onto my plot this morning and now has a name. And has said he has seen me on Such-and-such Street, where he himself lives, and where I have been known to stroll whilst about my city centre life. Eeek, we're almost neighbours. I once lent him my wheelbarrow, which may have been a bit forward of me.

GQ, a woman so hawt she can pull in tatty gardening duds and muddy DMs.:rotfl:I hope I've misread the situation, as I'm happy as a singleton and wouldn't want to upset anyone.

I usually acquire a misguided admirer about once a year. I think it's middle-age having thinned the field; all the good wimmin are taken and all the bad wimmin are charging, and that leaves the likes of me apparently (if not actually) available.

;) I have all my own teeth, you know; got the receipts to prove it. ;)

I found this. It looks so bad for low income US shoppers that even the discount stores are struggling.

The oddest thing has happened lately. My (stainless steel) kitchen sink has to have limescale remover on it every night to remove the tea stains. (Even Cif cream won't shift them, although I always wash the tea away when I discard any.)

It seems to date from around the time I broke my china teapot, and started using a stainless steel one.

Anyone know why this is, or am I just going mad?

Dollar stores and Walmart are no bargain in the US. I have bought can openers from both stores and they broke with a few uses. Hose sprayer from Walmart lasted a few weeks. Their sheets and towels are mostly made of plastic. I am convinced they get inferior products from overseas factories. I will not eat any food from dollar stores as a lot of it is produced in India and China. They wonder why they are failing? Crap products!
