Anyone seen this on Zerohedge?

Interestingly Goldman Sachs bought and sold stakes very recently as well.

The bank's shares should have been suspended last week. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

I know, but GS lost about two thirds of their cash this week, so I'm not too sad about that.
I wonder if this will trigger some CDS's similar to Argentina? Is this the avalanche moment?
Edit: Googling, just found this:

I did see this.

It might actually be cheaper for JP Morgan to buy off the hold out bond holders for $1.5 billion, and effectively eliminate the risk of a default for which they might actually have to pay out far more on CDS. Which does make sense. Then Argentina will be able to avoid a default. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

I have a year's supply of toothbrushes for both of us, plus sparesI socked away a fair few of Tesco Basics toothbrushes (twinpack for 15p) and have also used them and they are very good and don't underperform like cheapy toothbrushed I've encountered in the past.
I recall reading a bit towards the front of David Brin's post-apocalypse novel The Postman where the main character loses his belongings, inc his precious toothbrush, in a raid on his camp. He's very worried about this as he'd seen men in his former military unit die of infection caused by poor oral hygiene.
You can improvise a toothbrush by getting a twig, peeling the bark from one end and chewing it to splay the fibres and using them as the brush. One use deal only. Dentists will tell you that toothpaste is mainly used as a mouth freshener, it isn't actually contributing to oral hygiene, that's done by the friction of brushing.
Personal hygiene, including the mouth, would be very important to guard against ill-health. It's important not to under-estimate morale, but it's about more than not being stinky. You would need to guard your health very carefully in a world where medicine may be difficult or impossible to find, and healthcare providers thin on the ground.
Today's preptastic matters will involve hiking up to my allotmentino (bike is off its wheels for a few more days and going into the 'orspital this aft) and keeping everything in good order up there.
Summertime is a great time to treat timbered sheds and fences and go any running repairs to them to make sure there aren't weaknesses for the autumn gales to exploit. When some of my shed's felt came off last year, it was in the middle of July when I was out of town on a holibob, as is always the way. Gave the little darling an interim patch job and a whole re-felting in September. Should be good for a few years now.
I'm always astonished at how many people are allowing their allotment sheds to rot away for want of wood treatment year in year out and have strips of felt off and exposing the OSB boards to the weather. I appreciate you mightn't have the money immediately, but you work a professional job and run a nice car and can't patch a shed roof for 4+ years now? Madness.
For long term prepping of sheds, it would be better to have corrugated iron as is will last for decades, unlike the handful of years which roofing felt is good for, and what if the supply of new felt dried up? One of my parents' sheds which dates from the early 1970s is roofed this way and another will probably get the treatment later.
Righty, better get a wriggle on.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Corrugated bitumen is a good, long-lasting shed roof too, especially for keeping birds in as mites really don't like it.Angie - GC Oct 25: £290.57/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Corrugated iron is so useful that it can be a target in its own right, so you need to be close to it to keep it secure. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Afternoon. I've been lurking the past few days, as rl has been a bit hectic.
The morrisons voucher has been really apriciated here, and can safely say the cupboards and freezer are well stocked.
On the topic of items to barter with I've got a selection of items like toothbrushes and soap e.c.t, but would also like a bit of silver too. I was thinking of getting some of the 1 ounce bars. Does anyone have any advice in if this is good to buy, and where to purchase some. Much apriciated.0 -

I get mine from 'Bullion by post' based in Birmingham. They have not let me down yet:

However, silver is a bit of a loser in my view for wealth preservation, as you pay 20% vat when you buy it.
If you really want some, buy silver Britannias as they are CGT free. (Bars or American Eagles aren't.)0
