I guess until we find out otherwise it's anybodys guess and all options are open to speculation aren't they?0

I've dusted down the tin foil hat on this one and in amongst the confusion, denials, information and counter information, I would be surprised if at least one country didn't have a very good idea of what happened, where it happened and why it happened. I'm even wondering if it was shot down as a plane gone rogue? It must be terrible for the families whose only hope now must be the slim chance that it was landed somewhere and hidden.
Hmmm. I've been following this since the first reports started coming through at silly 'O' clock in the morning when it was breaking news. Out came the tin hat and I immediately wondered who was on that flight and as news filtered through and I followed the threads on icke and pprune it all became a bit more intriguing. I'm sure there is much more to this than we are being told and that there have been delaying tactics, misinfo and cover ups. I think it's highly unlikely we will ever know what has really happened, but I am convinced with all the technology known and secret that tptb know or have something to do with it. There's been some interesting theories on the other forums mentioned and whilst a times they appear crazy some of them appear quite plausible from where I'm sitting in the land of tin hats. There are a couple of large important bases in that part of the world. I can't believe that a plane flying off course can slip past. I have various theories and have wondered when someone would mention it here. I've not been able to catch up on the other forums over the last 36hrs and they've been moving at quite a pace. It may be another late night, just for a change.

Well, I've only just found this thread and life's too short to read all the back pages of it, so I thought I'd better jump in and see if I've got the right idea of what you're all on about.
We i.e. The Lady Wife and I realised long ago that we haven't a snowball's of being truly self-sufficient, so what we aim to do is be as resilient as we can - that and to avoid wasting money now we're reliant on my State pension!
We've tried to simplify our lives as much as possible (we can't afford a "lifestyle"), and to grow as much of our own food as is realistic with two allotment plots plus the back garden. We have two woodstoves which keep us warm during the winter, and the one in the kitchen doubles as much as possible as a hob. Apart from baths, all our hot water is heated in two kettles, which once they've boiled are kept hot on a folded blanket under a big beanbag.
We try to ensure that at all times we have a fortnight's food in the house excluding stuff in the freezer, and a month's supply of bogrolls (!).
We're into home preserving, and last year splashed out on an All American Canner, which has enabled us to bottle beans, peas and tomatoes without risk of botulism. Fruit we still bottle with the water-bath method. We're into jam-making too. Here's roughly half of last year's bottling. This year we try harder
Off now to read some more about what you guys are up to ...We're all doomed0 -
OOH love that store cupboard. And I remember the old Kilner jars with the 1970s fashionable orange screw bands - can you still get rubber seals for them? I'd like to use jars with a screw band like the modern Kilners but with a glass lid - I did email Kilner and asked them to confirm that the metal discs were BPA free and they confirmed they were but it still seems wasteful to use so much metal for one use. And the reusable lids you can get in the US are plastic which I try to avoidIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I love your store cupboard Si Clist. I have a miniature version under the stairsYep we have one with spare "wicks" and a spare glass as well. Was brilliant last time we had a power cut as it gave out reasonable light PLUS a suprising amount of heat to take the chill off.
Ali xSo has nobody else got a Tilley lamp and a gallon of paraffin tucked away somewhere "just in case"? We've even got as spare mantle for ours ... somewhere ...
:think:I have a few hurricane lamps and a gallon of paraffin - is that the same thing?:p
Does anyone know where you can get the woven wick thingies for paraffin lamps? Thanks in anticipation0 -

Ahah! The chap you need is Peter Denyer! Have a go on his website
One thing I will say on the subject of Kilner jars is that the new small ones are rubbish. If the metal that the rings and lids are made of was any thinner, you could read the paper through them ...We're all doomed0 -

Last week I mentioned that my next door neighbour is building an extension.
Today he is putting in new drains for an en-suite, and I see he has a circular inspection pit ready to go in. I just had an advert for this pop up on the side of Zerohedge:
http://www.drainage-systems-online.co.uk/acatalog/Domestic_Sewage_Pumping_Station.html?gclid=CMiJ7I3hkb0CFcuWtAodjgEAAA
Now I certainly haven't been looking at those items. Presumably my neighbour's and my IP addresses are so similar that Google thinks I have. That's weird.
I don't use G00gle, I use DuckDuckGo, and random stuff appears on ZH's sidebars. I know I could block it but it's entertaining.
At the moment I'm being repeatedly offered chances to trade foriegn exchange. Lol, as the last FX I did was trading in a few stray Euros found when decluttering. At various other times I get offered opportunities to meet pretty young ladies from south east asia or to take party in fantasy gaming worlds, enticed by drawings of vaguely elven-looking young ladies with improbable cleavages................:rotfl:
Then there was the time that ZH advertisers went French on me and offered me chances to trade FX in french and also to buy french cement mixers.........and no, nothing I do or view online can remotely explain these things.
G'wan, switch your browser to DDG and see what you get........Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
