Briefly De-lurking again.
Nope....a year is needed I believe. Always been lucky enough to be in work myself, but under no illusion how hard it is due to lots of friend being axed, and my job (as with anyone) could go at any time. These idiots need longer than three months as that may focus their brains as to what would actually help rather than shoving a plaster on it all.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Hi all yes we have thought of adverse possession for the ground but unfortunately the previous owner did some things that severely reduce the chances of fighting this line of attack. Our best bet is to throw a wopping great spanner in the form of a right of access for tractors diagonally across the site thus reducing the development area by at least 50%! TBH there is a chance of a large payout to relinquish the access or move it to allow the sale and development. I have a bit of a moral battle between fighting the development or taking the money and moving. There is a chance that a field of ours will also go for development, this would result in a life changing amount of money and securing my old age and my children's future.
Back to more important issues LOL, peas and sweet peas do not like. their roots disturbed. I plant them in coffee cups or individually in kitchen towel cardboard tubes to give their roots a long space to grow. They will grow after being transplanted but will sulk a good while before deciding to pick up and grow!
Anyway keep up the good fight against TPTB and concentrate on the important things like growing peas!
It's a(nice) dilemma to have - as somebody once said, every NIMBY has their price! The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

As preppers, we are stockpiling food before a crisis.
How will the govt officials differentiate? Preserved home made or frozen food could be labelled with any date you choose - or none.As for the wind up radios, I think you will find, in a national emergency, information broadcasts will be made on digital, AM and FM channels.
That's what Laura Ellis from the BBC stated, in May last year.
From the Pure Digital Radio website:
It is proposed that all national stations should move to broadcasting only on digital. This includes the BBC....
...While it's technically possible to produce an adaptor to allow you to hear digital radio on your FM radio, no such adaptors exist as the cost would be as high as producing a full digital radio.0 -
In a major, national SHTF situation, they'd no doubt commandeer some analogue transmitters, with which to broadcast emergency messages.
Also, no doubt, a time will come (I doubt it will be too long coming), when you will be able to buy a wind up DAB radio.
In the meantime, there's always Solar DAB radios.0 -
paranoid lurker moment!
Ello everyone
Mommy, in the US, had homeland security turn up, black suits et al, when she tried to get a copy of her passport for a solicitor in the UK. Interviewed for an hour..off she went. When she called today..mobile suddenly didn't wanna work properly...and she called landline instead. We both heard alot of clicks on the line!!
Big brother may well be watching, especially as we talked about Russia, Gitmo, NSA, surveilance and many other unusual topics for a mother and daughter!
Cover those webcams people, and Smith! Get those knees up!
I like to share my paranoia!

Someone on PP posted this link:

It's very interesting to see the real history behind the events.
Interesting indeed, I've also been looking at the history behind all this and it's not as black and white as the msm would like us to believe. I've heard so much hypocrisy spouted by JK (now known as lego man in our little abode thanks to GQ :rotfl:) and as for vague winner of the most annoying voice he's as bad.0 -

I'd call it being awake, aware and alert. I'm sure we are all referred to as paranoid in some way just for being on here. Tin hats and colanders at the ready:D I have the web cam covered but don't forget to disable the microphone too
