This is from the national hurricane center in the States. It doesn't quite show the UK but does show a good picture of what's coming;

There's also this one, which does show the UK, though with 6 hourly intervals, so slow down the animation if you want to see it more clearly:

I got a letter from the hospital with a different consultant so I phoned them up and thankfully it was a mistake at their end so I have an appointment in August with my knee man, trouble is it is on DD's birthday, but that is the only appointment that they could give me.
I had a good chat with the girl who answered the phone, mainly voicing my concerns about this uploading of data and she said that she and many of her colleagues including nurses, doctors and consultants are opting out as well, because they don't know who is going to have access to our private medical data. If that is coming from NHS staff then I urge anyone who hasn't done it to opt out now, you only have two weeks left.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Well, TS really could HTF here today - the mice have got into my loo roll! Luckily there was only one big packet of Nicky left out there from the festive TP mountain, but it was completely wrecked; the little dears had eaten away a strip down the side of each of the 36 rolls, where the glue goes, and made a humungous nest in between 4 rolls at the bottom. It reeked and my attempts to rescue anything from it just succeeded in scattering mouse debris (euphemism!) everywhere. So it's all gone to the dump… fortunately there were a couple of decent items to scavenge, to do up & sell on, so it wasn't a waste of a trip.
Be warned - it isn't just your food stocks you need to be vigilant of!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Loving the references to Hitchikers guide, loved all Douglas Adams stuff.
RIP DA and of course the late great Terry Nation, creator of the Daleks, Blake seven and the original survivors.
Had a strange valentines day, been married nearly 17 years, together almost 20 and known each other as friends for about 3 years before that so we don't always bother with the cards and "tat" now, but we usually try to do something together. Unfortunately OH had a hospital appointment for a camera down into the stomach etc for the day. Last time he had it, he said it was horrible so was going to opt for the sedation this time.
So sat in the hospital expecting a long wait whilst he came around and he appeared really early out the door. Turns out he decided to manage without the sedation as he didn't want to ruin the rest of valentines day and wanted us to be able to have a nice lunch out together.
We had a lovely pub lunch in a local really old style pub that serves lovely food at a reasonable price without all the fuss and "gloss" of the chain type pubs.
Went to see the nurse for my next asthma review and spotted a prominent sign in the GP's about the data issues and highlighting the fact that the doctor is obliged to pass on the info. Spoke to the receptionist who immediately passed me two forms that they have prepared for people-there is a section for the kids on mine. She said they all were opting out and the doctor is against the whole thing and wants them to encourage people to fill in the forms. They said to get the forms back to them asap.
Made sure I spoke quite clearly as did the receptionist who actually said its disgusting. Then saw two others waiting go up, read the sign and take forms as well yay!
