From what is shown in the picture here, it doesn't say cold (froid) or snow (neige). Gives the time, date etc. Or am I missing something? I can read French but am rubbish at maps
even if its just the temps... that is SERIOUSLY cold!!!
think I will go take hubby on a little jolly this afternoon, to the farm supply shop, ( ok it is a fair distance away) and see if they got those Aigles boots...BUT on saying that I know what is reaction will be like when he see's the price.!!!!!Work to live= not live to work0 -

Don't worry too much about the colder temperatures, mid continental Europe gets down to -20 regularly. We experienced it in Berlin a couple of years ago and didn't realise how cold it was until we saw a temperature read out in a shop window. We didn't feel that cold, just couldn't talk properly as our facial muscles weren't working properly. Admittedly the buildings were warm and we had power but being outside in that kind of cold ,as long as you are properly dressed for it is not particularly unpleasant. Lyn xxx.0

Sorry for not replying to the above posts, only just logged on.
Still don't know if that is snow or temp but I have just seen a tweet from Piers Corbyn quoting an article from the Daily Fail.
I know what the Daily Fail is like most of the time but he is saying that he predicted this outcome. He has been saying for some time that there is no such thing as global warming, we are heading for a mini ice age.
I think the scariest thing is, not that we will get temps and weather like this, but how long is it going to last? We could stock up and try and manage if it is going to be a short term thing but just imagine if it were to stay like this for months!
My husband is one of those who doesn't listen when I talk about these sites etc but I think he has started to listen now.
This country will come to a standstill if we get weather like this. Food won't be able to be delivered to shops, people won't be able to get to work etc, etc.
We can get wrapped up as well as we can, what about when you have to let the dog out, how well can you wrap up a dog in those temps!
I think I had better get stocked up again and get the small tent out of the loft.
Just found this site with a few tips about keeping warm (A girl called Jack which I think most of us on here have heard of).

I read somewhere that if there is a chance of your pipes freezing (guess there would be at minus god knows what temp, plus no heating) to not turn off your water taps. Let them drip slightly and just make sure you leave the pug out if you are going to be away.0

Sorry about the size of the pic folks. I just copied the link to the pic. I hate it when I have to pan across the screen on my laptop for a huge picture.0

sb44 ask WONDERCOLLIE she lives in Canada and the temperatures get very low, the collie I know from her posts has leather (I think) boots and a warm dog coat for this extreme cold. These items will be available here too, at a price, but don't get too worried about what might happen, we'll deal with posibilities when they become realities and there will be ways of coping. We're more resilient than we realise and although the weather events are making lives very difficult and the cold would be uncomfortable we'll all rally together and there will eventually be an end to it all and there will be Spring and warmth again!!!
