Our leaflet came through the door with junk mail and very nearly got binned along with it ! Wonder how many other people assumed it was just junk mail ?Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

I don't recall having had a leaflet at all. Was it recently, was it addressed and in an envelope, or was it just a leaflet?
I will be printing off several copies of the letter and badgering The Idiot (our muppet MP, 'bout time he earned his GQ buck).
Today I've been raising repairs on leaking roofs and leaking windows and leaking doors. Gullies have been backing up, inc on non-adopted highways so we won't be attending to them. Water is where is didn't oughter be in a fair few areas. River is still well below its banks, I relieved to see, but the pictures and stories coming out of the west country are heart-breaking.
Mum's great great grandad (think I have the number greats right) came from the hinterlands of Devon in the mid-19th century - to London via Bridgewater. Some of my DNA has roots in that part of the world. Wet roots, right now.I've never even been to Somerset, tho. I wonder if Hemyock is wet (ancestral village)?
Today I'm cracking on with housework and laundry since coming in from work, as keeping a tidy and organised home is an important part of prepping. I'm also mentally re-running my personal floodplan, which is what I'd do if water was about to come in here. There's a goodly clearance between the river level and the bank, but if and when it overtops, it'd be in my flat within minutes.
Tomorrow I shall survey my estate (the allotment) and see how much damage has been done up there. If it's wringing wet, I'll stay off the soil as it isn't good to compact it in those circumstances.
Keep calm and keep focussed. If you've even entertained the prospect of business as usual being disrupted, you're well ahead of most of the population. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ - Hemyock was not wet yesterday, but was apparently rather soggy on Wednesday. Given the forecast for tomorrow, the chances are it will be back experiencing some flooding then. I love the way that the local pub keeps the sand bags propped up by the porch most of the year round. All that is needed is a really heavy rainfall and the water flows down the hill towards pub.

We had a leaflet with the junk mail but It was not clear how to opt out. Thanks to reading on here I at least know how. Thanks for the links.0

Haven't had it, then. All I've had heath-related is a GP letter to come and see them and appt with the boobie-squashing peeps.
Will be getting those letters sent to various places such as GP and the hospital clinic I attend during the next week. I dunno, seems like every time you turn around these days, some beggars are trying to run off with your data. They're not having mine if I can help it.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

A fairly large leaflet, looks like this (leaflet on the table)
Not addressed, which is something else to object to. None of this has been addressed to those it concerns. Some have said we be asked to opt in, not left to opt out. Interestingly two of my offspring haven't had the leaflet, and they live in blocks of flats - two hundred miles apart. Maybe the PO don't deliver junk mail to flats? Or not as much, anyway.0
