It was such a manic week, that I decided I would do nothing today in order to re-charge my batteries.

I have been playing around with my budget and now that I have included WW fees and Treatment costs, it is much tighter, but from Monday I will have much more time, so there is a bit of a trade off.

Because I am focussing on health as well as money saving, I am trying to buy as much organic food as I can too, and build up my store cupboard.

So today I wrote out a balanced schedule for next week and placed a large on-line delivery with Mr T, utilising a number of codes that I had. I spent £100.00 but it was all carefully thought out, with a number of store cupboard staples.

My Meal Plan is based around Weightwatcher's recipes and looks like this:-

Saturday - Garlic and rosemary lamb with roasted roots.
    Sunday - Lamb pilaff
    Monday - Omelette and salad
    Tuesday - Lovely lasagne
    Wednesday - Chicken Curry
Thursday - Celeriac, Leak and Potato Soup
Friday - Seared salmon on warm Puy lentil salad

Breakfasts will be homemade muesli with skimmed milk and fruit

    Lunches

Saturday - Poached egg on toast and salad
Sunday - Tuna Baked Potato - Fruit
Monday - Chick pea salad - Fruit
Tuesday - Lentil soup and roll - Fruit
Wednesday - Ham salad roll - Fruit
    Thursday - Cheese/onion salad - Fruit
Friday - Left over leek and potato soup and roll - Fruit

I enjoy cooking but have had no time in recent months to do it justice, but I will now!!

The challenge though is that this week I only have £3.33 left to last me until next Friday. There is nothing that I need to spend money on, but I am meeting up with two friends on Wednesday, so I will suggest a picnic instead of lunch out ;).

I am also going to a girl's night out on Friday, it is at a person's house, so I will offer to do the driving and bring along a cooked offering, so again it can be managed.

So £3.33 until Friday, let's see if it can be managed. Any monies I find by scavenging around the house will be added to this princely sum xx.

    Morning world - 62/365 - 16.9%

The lamb meal, I cooked last night was absolutely delicious. There was a rosemary jelly and lemon glaze on it which flavoured the juices, and produced mouth watering gravy. DH was very impressed ;).

Here's hoping the rest of the WW recipes are good too :p.

I'm heading to my class today. Dr K's recommended taking two cushions for my legs and doing the seated exercises with my back against a wall, while my body adjusts. Who cares what the others in the class think .

    Total spent of my £3.33 - £0.00.

  • Just wanted to wish you well in all the areas of your life. The WW recipes you use sound great and wondered if you received them at your class or are they in a cookbook? Have previously had a set of 4 books which were very good to use but could do with some more recipes.

Hi angela110660, Ani thanks for the support x.

Yes they are ones from the new book, The Complete Kitchen, which is on offer at the moment ;).

My cooking was so routine and boring, that this is an attempt to spice things up :).

    63/365 - 17.2%

I enjoyed the class yesterday. As suggested I simplified things and went at my own pace. I can see how gaining a degree of proficiency would be excellent for flexibility and anxiety control, so i'll keep going.

The lamb pilaff was lovely too, just needed a bit more seasoning, DH enjoyed it, but DS thought it was a bit too fancy with the pomegranate seeds and pinenuts in it. In future I would give him a simplified version.

So two new dishes in a week, my family would be lucky to get two new dishes in a year before ;).

Amount spent out of £3.33 - £0.00. To maintain that I need to make sure DS/DH and I take our lunches with us today.

Feeling upbeat and positive. Today isn't as quiet as I'd hoped, I couldn't resist three GR jobs that I will tack on after the school and auditing jobs. It's then on to WW and Zumba class.

I've changed the menu and DH can make the omelette and salad for tea tonight, he's the omelette king :T, and it frees me up a bit.

The lamb bone is simmering away at the moment, so i'll turn that into a lamb broth. Three meals out of a leg of lamb, now that's MSE!!

I honestly don't understand why you are making posts and deleting them. There is little point in reading them and replying, to my mind. Never mind. Each to their own.

Let's move on to the really important things ...... When are you getting your purple roots dyed?
Okay, i'll reply in this diary as you don't wish for the " heavy" stuff in your other diary. x

I'm not sure if you said this tongue in cheek or in all seriousness, as one can't always tell with the written word?

But it's food for thought? How many people think this is what is really important, the " keeping up appearances " stuff. Of course, this IS what is important to many people. Dyeing your hair, putting your face on, wearing the " right " clothes, even extreme dieting,( i realise some people need to diet for health reasons,) creating an illusion? or masking the insecurities you feel about yourself? It's quite strange. At the health centre you see young and old alike, so thin and boney, they look so frail, and like twigs that might snap at a touch, as they pursue an " image." I wonder how they see themselves? Probably as overweight. I saw an interesting tv progamme a few years ago, which featured a young girl, who couldn't even answer the door, unless she had her " face " on. The face of what? The person we want to be? The face soceity tells us we should be? She spent 3 hours i think, putting her face on everyday. And no. What you see, is what you get with me, rather unfortunately?

Thinking about it, and rather strangely, i've had my choice of clothing, hair, everything, criticised by many people, along the way. But then you could argue we are all individuals and it's our choice, ultimately, and it probably boils down to a confidence thing.

    I wish i wasn't such a deep thinker.

Have a good weekend away? RB xx

  • I've not gone yet! Thanks for being thoughtful and not posting on the other diary, that is for my lighter side, post here if you want to argue a point with me.

I have a tendency to get too heavy and I have to watch that as it can cause me a lot of stress, so the purple roots was extremely tongue in cheek, but you got the message.

It is important to me to make the best of myself and I do like clothes, make-up and getting my hair done. As the weight has gone down my confidence has increased, but you are right, ultimately we are all aging and one day we are all going to have to get used to be wrinklies, so why not just accept ourselves just as we are.

God bless, i'll check in on Monday xx.
