Hi,
I'm waiting to hear back from halifax after my response to their rejection of my loan, the say they know it was single premium PPI but state that theres nothing wrong with me being offered it at the time - what do you guys think? if there was nothing wrong with it at the time then nobody should have complains upheld for this reason?
im in the 3rd week waiting for their reply to my last letter. giving them till the end of the month then i think ill have to take it to the FOS as it will be 2 months since their last letter where they stated i could go to the FOS if i had no further evidence or nothing for them to reconsider (which i have hence the reply to their letter - this was evidence of the differing amounts i was told i had borrowed)
thanks

I think you've had your full and final response (and evidently a further letter defending their stance) and so I believe you have nothing to gain by not now referring this to FOS.I'm waiting to hear back from halifax after my response to their rejection of my loan, the say they know it was single premium PPI but state that theres nothing wrong with me being offered it at the time - what do you guys think?
It's really up to you, though.
As you know, front loading is the most upheld complaint at FOS-so you have a strong case.0 -
The FOS doesnt like single premium.
For example, if you take Black Horse Life, they used to reject complaints but the FOS overruled them in 99% of cases. So, go to the FOS. There has been no indication that the FOS has changed it's view on single premium front loaded PPI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I do understand your reluctance to join the back of a queue it will take a year or more to reach the front of...0

I think the op only had the one rejection letter and is waiting for the response to the rejection letter they wrote back to the bank rejecting the reason given for not upholding.I'm waiting to hear back from halifax after my response to their rejection of my loan

yeh thats right, they did say in their first letter that if i had any more evidence for them to consider then i should write back, i have and its now 3 weeks later and nothing - although they admit in their first letter that it was single premium. I'm just confused as to why if they know its single premium that they are dragging it out
PS thanks ammersall i know i have PM'd you about it was just wanting more input - as well as getting impatient lol0 -
Give them a call and ask if they have received this letter then we will take it from there.0

hi,
they have def received the letter, they confirmed this twice on the phone and its awaiting somebody to look at it, heading for the 4th week now...0 -
:DHow come I don't get PMs from you?:D0

i can send you a few if you like?
i have a few letters at home as i recently moved and my bank is still registered to my parents, going to pick them up tomorrow so hopefully theres something in there!
im not sure why halifax are dragging their feet over this, they know its single premium so not sure why they wish to drag it out!
on a different topic, any of you guys know of any claims that were single premium, the bank knew they were and they didn't get any redress from either the bank or the FOS?0 -
No, they very rarely slip through the net now to FOS at all. Even if a complaint is received not mentioning front-loading it should still be upheld by the Bank.any of you guys know of any claims that were single premium, the bank knew they were and they didn't get any redress from either the bank or the FOS?
There are always exceptions, so it's always best to check as you did.0
