yeh from what i have read i found it very odd, I'm my initial complaint i mentioned it was front loaded (not in those words though - along with a whole host of other reasons which are not provable he said she said stuff) then they replied saying it was single premium but they say there was nothing wrong with selling it to me!

ill see what my letters hold tomorrow, if nothing i shall ring the bank again and perhaps be a little more stern with the poor indian guy on the other end of the phone!

don't want to give up and go to the FOS just yet, heres hoping!

Another update - Just rang them, they have a letter posted to me yesterday, the lady read it out over the phone - they are refusing to re-open my case or address my further evidence evan tho their last letter told me to provide it if it had it!

as I'm within the time limit i should go to the FOS - which I'm about to ring!

any of you heard anything like this for single premium ?

Your problem is simply that you wanted the Bank to re-consider and, if they are refusing, they probably haven't looked at your complaint again. Pity you didn't mention the single premium reason in your original complaint.

Good luck with FOS, do keep us updated of your progress. I'm sure you'll eventually have a satisfactory outcome.

You will have to take this to FOS now, this is Single Premium and is the most mis sold of all PPI.
I don't understand this at all, they asked for more info, you gave it to them, they obviously have not looked at this again so let the FOS know this too, send copies of your complaint and the rejection letters with the questionnaire.

    hi,

just got off the phone to the FOS, they didn't understand why when they said in their first letter provide more evidence if you can, and when i did they refuse to look at it!

also told the FOS that my main reasons for complaint were Single premium, paid to term with interest and the unfair rebates that were there should i have paid it off early, also said to them that i was told i had to have it to get the loan (i know its weak).

money - i did state that it was single premium in the initial letter (altho i didn't know it was called that then and put it in a long winded way) and they in their first response said theres nothing wrong with it!!! they also definitely did not look at my further letter!

perhaps i should have worded my initial complaint in a much better way, concentrating on the single premium point (a note to people reading this looking for tips!) but for them to not look at the info in my second letter is quite annoying and just goes to show how important the initial complaint letter/form is!

anyhow FOS forms are an their way and a 12 month wait in order!

    just a little update,

got the actual letter through the post today - it does indeed state as they have already investigated my claim, they will not be re-opening the case and included a copy of the original rejection letter (which states to contact them with further evidence!) as i am within the 6 month period then i should contact the FOS should i not be satisfied!

next question - how long doe the FOS forms take to come through the post? rang them last thursday - am i just being impatient?

You can download the Ombudsman Questionnaire from this site or from the FOS website! Didn't you use this in your original complaint?
Anyway, you should be sending them copies of letters you've sent to and received from the Bank.
