Right so my shopping list for next week is:-

    Banana's
    UHT Skimmed Milk
    Onions
    Eggs
    Cheese spread
    Rice Cakes
    Courgette
    Quick Cook Turkey Breasts

The Eggs should last two weeks so I won't have to get any the following week. The turkey breasts will last 3 weeks as you normally get 6 in a pack, and they will last 3 Sunday dinners.
I have a breadmaker so make my own bread, but I do always keep a loaf in the freezer for emergency.

So hopefully I will only spend around £10-£12 on food for next week.

Ha ha..... I smiled too when I saw Scampi was on the menu for Friday.... I think it could quite well become a weekly tradition now :-)

Can I have some donations please

I would love porridge for 0p :rotfl:

My porridge costs will go down soon, I am just using up my golden syrup sachets I have left, then it will be about 10p a portion.

I was saying before, that young people complain today, but I wonder what the victorians would make of us. I guess our life would be a doddle to them

I bought a bag of porridge oates yesterday for 56p which I guess will last me at least a month. I always add a teaspoonful of golden syrup to them - which makes them taste exactly like the Oatso Simple golden syrups.

    Hi Beanielou, no problem

    Baked Bean Curry (Serves 4)

I halved all the ingredients for a 2 serving.

    1pk of cherry tomatoes, sliced.
    2 tins of baked beans
    1tsp of ground ginger
    2tsp mustard seeds
    2tsp cumin seeds
2tsp dried corriander (I used ground as I didn't have dried)
    1 onion
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
sliced fresh chillies (I did not have any so used chilli powder)

Put onion, garlic, chillies, herbs and spices in a pan with a bit of oil and cook until soft.
Add tomatoes and cook for a few minutes
Add baked beans and cook for a few more minutes until cooked.

Serve with mash potato or rice

    Not a bad cheap meal
