I know how you feel on the mess, I imagine the more you look at it the more depressed you feel and the less motivation you have. Do you think your able to motivate yourself to do a little each day? Maybe start with one room and fill a carrier bag with rubbish. Then when it's all gone a little dusting/wiping down of surfaces or putting some clothes away?

If your appealing fingers crossed you'll be successful and be able to get the cleaners back in x

I've been trying to do a little bit each day, but it's like emptying a swimming pool with a thimble. I've been doing sums today and I think I can afford to get the cleaners in, at least to get the worst done - I can't even get into the kitchen now, which is costing a fortune because of not being able to cook or use the fridge. I have some savings, first priority is buying a car (the cheapest running old banger I can find) because my motability car goes back soon, but I might have enough left for the cleaning. Insurance is going to cost me twice as much as the car though!

I've asked for a reconsideration, hopefully that'll give me at least something for care. I can manage for the three months of the reconsideration, but after that things'll be very tight. Hopefully I'll get the inheritance before things become really desperate, but that depends how awkward sister gets.

Whitewing, you might have seen bad, but this goes beyond bad. I'd easily qualify for How Clean is Your House.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

You will get there in the end. If you can't get the cleaner in just don't expect too much of yourself set small targets and soon enough you'll start to see change.

I remember been there myself, and it took me a while but I eventually started to make progress which spurred me on to push myself to do that little bit more. I did become obsessed while sorting all the crap with getting everything cleaned to glove inspection standard as I went along. Try to avoid this and concentrate on the decluttering and laundry. Then once that is done you'll feel more motivated to tackle the muck and dust x

I hope I didn't inadvertently force you to reveal anything didn't mean to. I was talking about my experience. I am sorry your DLA has been refused, so many of us live in dread of that happening. Are you appealing?
I had a support worker who helped me with basic domestic tasks once a week (supporting people) and also helped me out and about once a week. That was much harder.

Maybe that's the sort of thing that they can put in place as they withdraw your hospital treatment.

I can tell from your writing how difficult you are finding all this and I just want you to know you are not alone. You have had such a lot to put up with for a while and now you need to make sure you are insisting on the help and support you need.

I hope your review goes well tomorrow. Are you planning to go in with a list of questions/ areas for discussion and is your outreach worker coming too?
    Good luck and stay safe

I hope I didn't inadvertently force you to reveal anything didn't mean to. I was talking about my experience. No you didn't, it was me being paranoid and oversensitive and letting my thoughts run away with me - which I guess shows what I'm talking about with this whole thread. I am sorry your DLA has been refused, so many of us live in dread of that happening. Are you appealing? We've asked for a reconsideration and then yes we'll appeal if that doesn't work. It's just such a bizarre decision - the GP report said I suffer from severe bipolar, and yet they said I have no care needs.
I had a support worker who helped me with basic domestic tasks once a week (supporting people) and also helped me out and about once a week. That was much harder. That sounds really useful, I'm not sure there's anything like that here - I'd either have to pay, which obviously I can't do now, or maybe get it through a charity. I meet my support worker once a fortnight, in a cafe, so that I am definitely getting out and about a little bit. Although even that will be difficult now that I've lost my blue badge, I'll have to find somewhere with parking close by until I can (hopefully) get one through an assessment.

Maybe that's the sort of thing that they can put in place as they withdraw your hospital treatment. I hope so, I'll add it to my list.

I can tell from your writing how difficult you are finding all this and I just want you to know you are not alone. You have had such a lot to put up with for a while and now you need to make sure you are insisting on the help and support you need. Thanks.

I hope your review goes well tomorrow. Are you planning to go in with a list of questions/ areas for discussion and is your outreach worker coming too? It's mainy a meds review, but I do have a list of things I want help with and services I want referring to, I've been talking to other service users and reading leaflets to try and find out what's out there. My outreach worker wont be there, but she will be at the assessment I have before being discharged. They try to get as many people as possible to that meeting, but I think there'll just be her and the hospital staff.
    Good luck and stay safe

Thanks, it's taking a lot of my energy but touch wood I am staying safe.

Morning! I don't know anything about the medical side of things but could they change some of your tablets? I used to sit up all night sort of on gaurd in case anyone came to the house and when I finaly got to speaking to the doctor they gave me some tablets that had a sleeping effect. I can't remember what they were called, I took less as they were making me groggy but that made the sleeping effect worse, you had to take a larger dose to lessen the sleeping effect, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.
I'm just thinking that getting into a routine might be some help?

Hi all, not sure if this is the right forum but I wasn't sure where else it'd go.

Does anyone know if there's a 24 hour cafe in or around Leeds?

My mental health is bad at the moment - I'm under the care of the intensive/acute team and going to the hospital every day. The problem though is how to deal with the nights. I'm laying awake thinking, going over and over things. I think (and the hospital agree) that it'd be good for me to have somewhere I can go. To leave the house and get a cup of tea and read a book, or write, or anything really. But I can't think of anywhere! On a weekend some of the Macdonalds' are open late, but not during the week.

If I have to I guess I can drive out to a motorway services, but I'd prefer somewhere a bit closer and busier.

The worst time is between two and four or five am.

    Hi hun,

Kada's behind the corn exchange is open nigh on 24 hours - if you're making a special journey then drop them a call on 01132433433 just to check, but I've not yet found them closed and I'm an insomniac too so have been known to be ordering mint tea at 4:30.

I understand the issues with anxiety and not being able to keep up with / always wanting to engage with 'structured' services, but Leeds Mind and Touchstone both have some good local support groups and offer various services, such as gardening, courses in IT, community art, etc.

There are some other good local services but my mind's muggy right now (I've been up all night too) so I'll post later when they've all come back to me. Feel free to PM me if you want someone to whinge to / ask something of who's local.

How about talk radio? It makes the wakeful nights more bearable for me. If there's not one locally you could try Internet radio. I use lbc 97.3. It feels like company when you're alone

That is exactly how I was when I started mirtazapine.

I don't think the cafes are usually open 24/7 (and of course they do close at weekends) - Asda website doesn't seem to say for our local stores, but Tesco definitely doesn't keep its cafes open 24/7.
