Anyone with Giffgaff??
I just would like ingo about giffgaff. Pro's and cons if any. Also what if you are using a vodafone Iphone would you have to jail break the phone and lose all warrenties or is it simple as putting in giffgaff sim card. The deals sound good for web and texts etc but would like to hear from peeps who are with giffgaff for any issues etc.

I have some friends with giffgaff and will be switching over myself soon. The packages available are really good value (especially the unlimited data which doesn't seem to be available on regular networks anymore unless you have a really high tariff) and even better with the free giffgaff to giffgaff calls when you have friends on the network.
I haven't heard any complaints from my friends who are with them.
Not sure about the iphone issues..I use android phones and it's no problem with them.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
I tried to move to them but they took ages and didn't send a sim card for months and could not even reply to my emails (went with Tesco).
Anyway in my time trying to join them there customer service was non existant, There is no phone support only the forums (who are great for how do I type questions but can't answer anything account related) or email. There was a lot of issues porting numbers and topping up at the end of last year.
Long and short is whilst they are working it's great and cheap, when it goes wrong you get the issues, and they can take a while to sort out.0 -

was your iphone unlocked? was the iphone a contractual phone? I really want to know if you can have a networked iphone and just stick in a giffgaff sim and it works???All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
Im with giffgaff, In the past I have been with both orange and t-mobile, with orange I had no reception at all, on t-mobile I had two bars. Someone told me about giffgaff so I had a look and ordered a sim.
For the first time ever I have full reception, good value for money, I use the £10 goodybag and had no problems.
I did find that when I asked for a giffgaff top up in shops they looked at me like I had two heads, Recently found out that instead you can get an 02 top up voucher and that works no problems, tried it last week and worked first time, I just topped up £10, logged in and put the voucher code in and it worked, so happy with that.
Had no problems at all up to now and will be staying with them.0 -

I recently moved to Giff Gaff after my iPhone cintract with tesco came to an end. I take their £10 a month deal which includes unlimited texts and data and 250 minutes. Its a month to month top up so not tied into a contact (which is what I wanted as I am waiting for the iPhone 5 to come out) I got my phone unlocked and switched my number over which was a really straight forward process.
Really pleased with them so far.Wins:Smyths Gift Vouchers, Sat Nav, £100 Next Gift Vouchers, £250 Dunelm Mill Gift Vouchers, £720 D&G Perfume, £200 Asda Vouchers, Johnnie Walker Gleneagles Tickets, Edinburgh Virgin Festival Fireworks Tickets, Givenchy Dahlia Noir Perfume Set, Long Weekend in St Petersburg, Russia, £250 Selfridges Vouchers, £3000 Family Trip To LAPLAND!!!!0 -

And I believe you can now set up goodybags to autorenew when they are due to expire? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.

I moved to giff gaff after my iphone was not wanted on payg threeuk network ;-) For ten pound goodie bag as they call it it fits right up my street and the data is unlimited and great, suits me.
Nowt but praise for them and suprised they are not heard of more widely, all you need to do is have the phone prior and you can even now set up a dd where you pay month to month, no contract as in it updates your acct with the requried money in advance of your last goody bag running out. So you can even choose continuous top up and run it like a contract as in can rely phone always has credit, but can cancel it when suits if so want.0
