    2 options really.

    - Ignore it as a "phishing" attempt and wait to see if anyone actually writes with proper details of a debt.

    or

    - Send ---> https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2607247

    If you owe no money, then there is burger all anyone can do to you, but would at least be worth keeping an eye on your credit files for the next few months. Arrow Global are notorious for slapping false defaults on people's credit files.

    Transcom are a debt collector. Arrow are a debt buyer. This could be anything, maybe not even yours.

    If you don't recognise it from the references given (and even if you do!), as they have made the allegation in writing you should now respond with the letter Fermi linked to in the post above, requiring them to prove their position.
  • I got a letter today from Transcom as well, must be short of money and are just trying it on. I have never heared of Arrow Global and certainly don't owe anyone £3944 (apart from my mortgage).I will get that letter off to them straight away. :mad:

    I received a letter from Transcom this morning claiming a debt of £444 with Arrow Global Guernsey. I have a feeling that this is an old problem rearing it's head again.

    When we moved into our property 5 yrs ago the previous owner failed to pay British Gas. I sorted this with BG in 2008 and told them that the debt was with the previous resident after they started writing to the occupier. It went away but it looks like BG have sold their debts on and I am going to get hounded again.

    Don't guess what this debt might be. It's their responsibility to explain that to you. We've had threads where the op has been certain it's an old debt of theirs, but it turned out to be nothing to do with them at all.

    Previous posts give the standard letter to use.

    Sounds like Arrow Global have been busy recently

    We received one of these letters last week, and sent off the letter linked to above. Received a reply yesterday stating they are checking with Littlewoods Extra, however i don't think we'll hear back from them as apparently it's from 2001.

  • Hi guys, new to this Forum but not to debts :-(. With all fishing debts, old and existing--- ASK the company to VALIDATE the DEBT. Deny you owe anything unless they can validate. No validation, No debt. These lowlife buy and sell debts, and usually dont pass on the full documentation. If you have been paying, say it was in error and request a refund (Unless they validate). If its over 6 YEARS old and nothing has been admitted or validated then the debt is Statute Barred, un-enforcable. (except CCJ's)

    Wouldn't put it past them to still try it on.

    Would be statute barred from 2001, even if you did owe it.

    i rang transcom today to find out where my apparent debt has come from... i have kept my eye on my equifax account for years as admittedly i walked away from debts when i was married...
    i cannot beleive what they have just told me. my debt is from an account i opened with littlewoods in 1993 and defaulted in 2000 (divorced year). and this is the first Ive heard anything from them and it has never been registered on my credit file... where do i stand with this. The original debt was probably £200. now 12 years on i apparently owe nearly 2 grand. i am fretting about this immensely
