Hi
We were contacted by these people over 2 years ago and they said we had taken out PPi which we told them we never did. Anyway they said it will not cost us a penny for them to investigate......now they want £395 !!!!
Hope someone can help.0 -

Hi,
I've just received two invoices from Bank-Smart for £248.10 and £183.00. I made an initial enquiry about PPI claims way back in 2012 and did not pursue them further when Bank-Smart asked for my bank details. Alarm bells rang and I checked them out on google - which proved they seemed to be a questionable organisation and had taken funds out of peoples bank accounts for 'administration work done'.
What should I do? I made the mistake of ignoring the many 'chain-like' letters from them - only to be billed for these same letters! I was one of those people heavily in debt and had lost my house, so I was in a very vulnerable and low time in my life.
I have emailed them to explain the above, but I am now considering going to a solicitor (which will of course cost me)... :-(0 -
Im in the same position as you. I received a threatening letter several weeks ago telling me I had broken their T&Cs by not signing and returning the letters of authority they sent me.
I phoned them and was told I would NOT be "invoiced" if my claims were not successful which seems to be a change of direction for them. I'm still not sure whether to just go ahead and see if a claim is successful.
Ive also asked for a copy of their T&Cs with my signature on agreeing to pay these extortionate fees if I decided not to go ahead. I'm still waiting.
I'm not sure what to suggest. Do a search on here, there's loads of complaints.
Personally I'm tempted to call their bluff and have my day in court if it ever came to that.
Good luck.0 -
Hi,
I've sent them an email asking for a copy of the T&Cs as I found a court case on line, thrown out regarding Bank Smart due to ambiguity in their T&C's. It could set a precedence perhaps.
So yes, I agree I think I will also sit it out and have my day in court.
I think their tactic is to send invoices in the very hope that you pursue the claim with them. My personal feeling is that I didn't want to give them my bank details in case they started taking money out of my account (as I've seen postings mention on other forums).
It's scandalous they are still trading... the financial ombudsman is another route to take I suppose. But what hassle and bother - just for ignoring what I thought was junk/chain mail...
Hope you get justice too...0 -
I'm absolutely convinced I wouldn't have signed anything if it stated quite clearly that I would be liable for admin costs in the event of a failed claim so I will be interested to see exactly what I did sign.
I rue the day I ever got involved with them0 -
Has anybody got a contact number for them, I ripped the letter up and threw it away.
They won't get one penny out of me0 -

I have just received an invoice for £807.90 from Bank Smart, as they looked into PPI for me in 2012, no products where found, and they still want money, so much for 'No Win No Fee', I will not be paying them, and advise you stay well away from Bank Smart.0
