Bank Smart Letter

My hubby received a letter in the post today from that exact company.
They worded it like this:
Lender: A Broker
Amount: £56000
Estimated Max: Refund Amount: £16800
Dear Mr
We have been asked to write to you regarding a loan application you made for £56000 which we have been informed is likely to have included Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) in the region of £16800.
If you have not already done so you may register your claim(s) for a refund of any Payment Protection Insurance that was included with this loan application, as well as with other loans including further interest and compensation where the policy has been mis sold.........................(and so on).
And an enclosed form!!!
...............................................................
Right for one, the larger one's I have successfully dealt with myself and that amount they have on the letter does not match up to any loan amounts taken out, and the lender's name is not known either as they have : A Broker.
If there are further reclaims, I will not be using any claims company, I will fight for myself and hubby's!;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Not a proper scam as such, but definitely ill-advised for anyone to believe anything in their letters.0 -

The hope is that recipients will go searching and find evidence of some genuine loan with PPI that they then use Bank Smart to complain through.

I said weird scam because my letter mentions a £1000 loan from CitiFinancial when I have never had a loan from them.0 -
Today I opened a letter from Bank Smart which had exactly the same wording as mentioned in previous posts.
Letter was sent from:
Bank Smart
Consumer Complaints Division
71-75 Shelton Street
Covent Garden
London
WC2H 9JQ
It then stated I may have been miss sold PPI through a lender called "Welcome Bright" for a loan of £10,000.
The estimated max refund could be £3,000
My advice:
Find all your paper work for any load you have had.
Claim for yourself and do not use any of these ambulance chasers.
Why give them money to do something that is actually very easy, if you use the correct form and keep any discussions polite.
Perhaps Martin should mention this on one of his TV appearances as it seems to be a growing problem.
As many people have now claimed for past miss sold PPI's, these companies are getting desperate for business and will try anything to get new clients.
Hope this helps in some way0 -

As I said, the hope is that recipients will be encouraged to sign up and make genuine complaints about genuine loans and pay this company 25% (plus VAT) of any redress subsequently awarded.Luke_Zaine wrote: »these companies are getting desperate for business and will try anything to get new clients.0 -
Digging a little more deeper this company seem to be targeting people in debt , on benefits or financially restricted .
There are some horror stories how they are charging people for these claims knowing full well that there is debt involved and that they the victim would not benefit from any refund and the only winner is the claim company and this particular company are just one of many.
They send in debt collectors to collect their fees .
Also notice that the phone contact is 0845 number a further gain.!!Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -
Just throw any letters from them into the recycle bin.0
