It's full of great ideas isn't it. The food is amazing. Much of it is frugal cooking too.
I'm going to really struggle today. I ache all over my upper body, especially in my chest and neck and it aches when I breathe in. I suspect I'm coming down with something unpleasant. All the multi-vits in the world don't help me when I work with little ones. I pick up everything.
Chicken dinner tonight but I'm not having yorkshires. I really have to get a handle on my weight. There's an article on BBC about how too much sitting is bad for you http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19910888 I'm lucky to have my health and I'm determined not to make my life harder by being too sedentary and overweight.
I love food, it gives me pleasure but I'm also a greedy oink with a very unhealthy eating relationship. There's nothing fancy in my diet now, it's all nutritionally balanced but there's too many puddings both sweet and savory.
Off to go do the NHS symptom checker and no doubt frighten the life out of myself! Edit: It's said I need an ambulance. I know I don't!
Edit again. It sounds like a lower respiratory tract infection which would make sense as my two have had sore throat and coughing in the last few days. NHS direct is a fab resource but it's forever being over cautious. When I had my first panic attack I didn't know what it was so called NHS direct. I had a paramedic to my home within 10 minutes and hooked up to an ECG, kids hiding in the cupboard because they were scared and took up 1 hour of this vital resource. I felt very guilty even though I insisted I could wait until DH got home to take me to hospital. She was very persistent and said what should happen to your children if you pass out before DH gets home. I was pretty angry about the whole thing actually, even if she was just trying to look out for me.
I treat RTI with ibuprofen and plenty of fluids and rest. Ha! A far cry from an ambulance anyway.0 -
Morning Fuddle,
Sorry to read that you are unwell, sending all good wishes your way...
I've been watching Disney's classic cartoon Snow White just found it by accident and ended uo watching the whole film.
That was my third time and yet most of it I had forgotten. It was like seeing it for the first time.
And I'm an old softie even at my age and yes it got to me...
I think the last time was at the cinema with Mum when it was the film's 50th anniversary and it had been restored and reissued. So that must be 25 years ago...
More bad news to wake up to, much in the same vain as Greece, Portugal announces it's latest auterity measures and the police are on standby. IMF says the cuts accross Europe are too harsh and too quick but the European Market says the opposite.
Avoid the news today, it will only make us feel miserable.
Have a cup of tea. Your aches and pains may be from all the work you did yesterday around the house rearranging everything...
Oh and it was 25 years ago when that hurricane happened in the UK down south...I remember waking up to the news and it took ages to work out what had happened.

Well thank you Fuddle and Possession, I have been so entranced with pinterest I got through a whole 2 hours without wanting to sit and sob (I really have to get a grip tough though life is right now)
Sorry you feel poorly Fuddle, hope you get better soon. I am dosing myself with echinacea at the moment as DS2 has a rotten cold and I have a compromised immune system and a lot of things I NEED to be well for between now and the end of the month. The echinacea I have was bought before the new interferring EU rule changes came into force, I'm dreading it running out because the stuff we are allowed to buy now is vastly inferior or so I've heard.
I am another who struggles with my weight. When I feel low, food and a good book is my comfort source. I lost a lot of weight after a major operation almost a year ago and have put most of it back on in the last few months due to comfort eating and lack of motivation to exercise.
Back to pinterest for a bit now then maybe I will be able to re-introduce the carpets to the vacuum cleaner, it has been ages since they last met! Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!! :mad:0 -
Wishing you well JKJ.
Another day for putting our OS hats on and getting on with things...
I'm finding my way around that site too...might be a good place to store a lot of the sites etc...that fill up our hard drives...

Morning all
Gorgeous morning here, pretty sunrise over the channel and a lovely crisp edge to the breeze. All the kittens came in fluffed up and feeling soft and chilly.
I stole a very sneaky peek at pinterest but I will not let myself get drawn in, I've already got a pile of blogs I read/ keep up with each week, I keep bookmarking projects I want to create but then don't spend enough time actually creating.
DH has occupational therapy later and a visit to a new physio who specialises in neurological patients. It's a 35 mile round trip so will utilise the fuel costs to the max, I'll pop off and do the charity shops whilst his therapy ladies make a fuss of him :T
Fuddle - hope you feel better soon, that's the problem with working with so many germ ridden, snot nosed kiddies. I used to be the same when I was childminding, caught everything and anything and passed it round again."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

JKJ sorry it's tough at the moment, we're all here to listen if it helps.
This may be the place to confess that my stair carpet hasn't made the aquaintance of the vacuum cleaner for a long long time because I can't for the life of me work out how to use the bendy bit.0 -
I am actually here to ask a favour, can you please send healing, pray for my daughter. She was taken into hospital on Saturday night very ill but as yet they do not know what is wrong. She is to have scans and more tests today. Got to admit am rather worried.
Morning everyone, sorry not been arround, I just had to have 'time out' and be selfish and have not read threads or even emails for a week and just immersed myself in sorting out my sitting room and watching Babylon 5 (oldest son bought me the complete boxed set years ago) and I have done nothing much except that.
Hubby and I have decided to stay in the house but have made it into two separate flats - he has living room as we only have on large room downstairs so its a bedsit for him and I have what was the study as my sitting room now as basically I have been living in my bedroom for past couple of years and was going stir crazy. He is out most of the time at work and his bowls so just having one room is ok for him. My bedroom is the bigger room so would be nicer for sitting room but that room has the boiler in it which is rather noisy so easier to ignore in a sitting room than bedroom. The small third bedroom is now the store room, took me ages to move everything in there as apart from son and OH taking his furniture downstairs and bringing my couch, trolley, recliner and sewing table upstairs I moved everything myself, hence the need for shutting everything out as was doped up on pain meds to manage and pain levels are rather high even now and still plenty to do, although with worry over daughter not exactly getting much done. Not sure if this will work but with all the changes afoot we decided if we can house share it means only one rent, one council tax to be found.
Yesterday we were married 32 years.
Will try and catch up with posts, but sending love and hugs to all who need them.
Thank you my friendsxxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I've just had a revelation tonight; barring a few errors I am actually touch-typing whoo whoo!:D It's great and I'm hoping I can keep it up.
It's great isn't it? Lord knows why I am torturing myself using my touchscreen tablet, it is fab for lots of things but using the onscreen keyboard drives me crazy, and I can type much faster and by touch rather than sight if I use my laptop.
Have just "found" the thanks button and will now start to use it, if I haven't thanked you upmtill now I have appreciated all comments am just slow on the uptake with new things! Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!! :mad:0 -
