Yes I can take pictures of the room now, with everything away from walls etc.

My little ones have their aprons on ready to be 'shifters'. They're moving my pantry store out of the spare room while I move the furniture in. Then we're moving the clothes into the non damp cupboard. Not sure about having my food in the damp room but no choice at the moment.

DH said that we could move in there on one condition... that I make it feel like home, relax and feel contented. So next pay I'm allowed to redecorate. :) I'm actually really excited now.

You have to put up with my mood swings every day on here, I bet you feel heartily sorry for DH :rotfl:

Sorry to read Npower have raised their prices too :(
  • FUDDLE you should be OK with tins and jars in a damp environment, but cardboard and paper will be at risk from dampness. Is there any kitchen equipment that you don't use often stored in kitchen cupboards that could live in the spare room so you could keep your stored food in the warmth of the kitchen?

Fuddle I echo what everyone else as put about your family moving in with your mum, not good news, you wont last long with her and her drinking habit in front of your children, thats a definate no no....

Ive just lit my open fire, first time this autumn, its bliss, hearing the wood crackling away and lovely flames, in fact we are going to eat tea on our laps tonight.:D........So no GCH tonight, be nice to watch the flames flickering when it gets dark , which wont be too long.........

Its a super dry sunny day, but a windy and cold ,at 11 degrees.....
  • Enjoy it SHEGAR and enjoy your supper on your laps, nothing in the whole world is as good fun as an open fire to play with! Cheers Lyn xxx. Small pleasures eh?

Oh Shegar, yes enjoy. I'm really envious. I fell asleep to the youtube video last night, so relaxing.

Yes, Lyn I can rearrange the cupboards downstairs. Will my food be ok in the floor level cupboards? I could swap the tins to the floor level actually and put the lesser secure (thinking mice) stuff up higher?

All done :) Well the furniture is in which wasn't a lot. Think New build master bedroom, you can shuffle round the bed but it's cosy... if you can look past the bright yellow and green bedroom with jungle curtains :rotfl:

So pleased I did my spag bol in the SC. :D

Shegar - enjoy the fire, ours was bliss last night. I stood the airer infront of it when we went to bed and came down to lovely dry washing too - bonus. Don't think we need one this evening, it's been quite warm here today.

Had a pootle round some charity shops today got some lovely plain sheets for using in my patchwork, new pair of jeans and a top for me, a gorgeous brand new bag puss hot water bottle cover and 3 metres of retro fabric, all for £11.50! I do love a good rummage.

I was given some very pretty cream, lilac and pink yarn the other day, it's so soft to work with but it's 4ply so will take forever to crochet into anything sizeable...it's a bit of a change after the last blanket was made using chunky Aaron wool...it's like crocheting a cobweb.

Did I not read somewhere about a paint you could use to stop damp coming through? Or to stop condensation? It was textured and made the wall feel warm.. I forget where I read it. Called Therm something I think?
  • FUDDLE - Good idea to keep tins and jars at floor level and other things above not just for mice but for slight damp too, that should work a treat. I keep tins on the lower shelves not because of mice but because of lurchers!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx Hope you enjoyed your choccie!!
  • Went to the museum of Lincolnshire life today (free entry :j) Came away thinking we just don't know how good we have things

That was until I trapped a nerve in my neck which when it started to spasm it then started my back going into spasm . With me having such a liking for swear words :o I look like I have escaped from some kind of secure facility :rotfl::rotfl:
