Afternoon campers
Just had a late and lazy lunch, could be cracking on with chores after being out at school all morning but cba. Had a lovely (if not tiring) morning with nursery class. Have another hour so will hang washing, tidy kitchen etc at least before school run. I live an exciting life don't you know?!
EEEk! None of my crafting skills are great, only basic sewing and even more basic knitting though plan to improve when that old problem of finding more time is resolved. So how I am going to get a new life? I would like lots of turquoise in mine and definitely no wrinkled or grey wool/thread :rotfl:Could I maybe bake myself a new life?
I have the rest of my week planned, up to Friday anyway. Tomorrow is a big clean and tidy day, place been neglected all last week with the lurgies present.
Thursday I am also treating myself to a day out to Ikea. They have sent me a £5 off £20 voucher (not sure what to spend on but always needing rugs/mats so will look for those) and apparently but sssshhhhhh don't tell everyone.......... they are doing free breakfasts and I get free drinks with my family card so it's a date.
Then hopefully feeling chirpy on Fri so I can start sorting out the moudly paintwork. Not a job I relish but forecast is dry and sunny so I will have to roll up my sleeves and get on with it won't I?
washing finished so no more excuses to stay on here. back later
chin up everyone, keep on smiling, keep on plodding, we will never give up!

Just looking at signing up with a union for work. They say on their home page that the IMF report, in layman's terms, means that for every £1 cut from Public spending the economy loses £1.70.0

Savingqueen be aware the Ikea thing is part of a nationwide marketing campaign and its expected to be murder there on Thursday morning, free breakfasts, and gift cards for first 250 through the door.0

Popperwell:- When my Step-Dad died, Mam contacted St James Park. We were allowed to scatter his ashes behind the Gallowgate end goal mouth. Lots of people do this apparently.
They always listened to the match on the radio and now Mam imagines him helping out the goalie as she she listens. There are strong words spoken when he lets one in!:rotfl:
We did something similar with FIL ashes.
They were scattered on the centre spot of Dalkeith football pitch as that was where he grew up.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

All of son's police leave cancelled because of the Party Conference in Brum.
Party being the operative word, he tells me.
I am finding very difficult to be my happy sunny self.
If I could knit, I think my life would be very simple like many...
Enough money to pay the utility bills, stay warm, eat reasonably well, keep a roof over my head and wish that I had some loved ones in my life or could accept the situation that I am in and realise how lucky I have been. Be able to stay on the internet and afford the repairs to the PC when they happen. Perhaps afford the odd treat out(perhaps to a theatre or to the countryside)or if not that an buy an odd CD.
But even then the important things are in red and many have to do with much less than what is on my list. I can always put a radio on.
I don't like the nasty things many of us have/will face but life isn't smooth as we would like and you do appreciate that little things mean so much more, a moonlit sky, a flower, the smile of a child, a cuddle, a tender kiss...and many more...all free..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. On a brighter note have someone from social services coming tomorrow to see what they can do for us???? ie tell me theres nothing they can do for us
Well it will be an interesting change of routine. Not seen hide nor hair of them for 2 years.
Good luck, they did very little for us(well the District Nurse/Social Worker)we had and they actually caused more stress and worry and I did most of what was needed. They made Mum's last few weeks hell.
And I found the so called Carer's Association on the town no use either and when I asked for advice it was useless. Not probably helped by the fact I sometimes asked for advice what to do as I was unhappy with the help I was getting from those two but I later found out they share the same building. So chances are what I was asking did not stay private."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
