    I think I'll make a sparkly purple life :)
  • No JAMANDA, capitalise on the visit and use it as a training exercise. Do you have a family card for Ikea? if you do you get free hot and cold drinks in the cafe, you could park him and shop in peace? Just a thought, Cheers Lyn x.

I'm a bit more chipper after the school walk, nice and brisk but sunny here. What a moany moo eh? Shesh woman!

DH hates ikea too :D although he likes the meatball meals there and free cuppas. He's not impressed with sitting in the ikea canteen as he calls it but the lad knows he has no choice and has to ferry me about some times. That's why it's good to just let him go fishing, I work it to my advantage ;)

I always buy tealights too, and whatever utensil I need in the kitchen, scissors, measuring cups, bowls for the girls etc. Sometimes a cheap bath mat. Ikea is fun!

And who, precisely, do you think is going to carry the booty? Don't know anything about family cards etc. Visits too rare, though not all that far away.

Anyway, with my sense of direction I'd get lost in it - it is huge.

If he's really, really, good, might let him go fishing later

I want two lives...a cuddly, chunky knit one and a black, fitted and glamourous one. Even if I keep the glamourous one in the wardrobe and just gaze longingly at it occasionally.
I'm knitting my first cardi at the mo and it is purple with sparkly, glittery buttons or it will be if I ever finish it.

I'm attempting to relax at the moment and stay calm as I am going to have my coil replaced at 11am. Sorry if that is TMI. I hate having it done, but the benefits out way the negatives. I am going to be nice to myself today and read the book for book group on Thursday and eat some yummy stuff. DH is under orders to be nice to me today. Hopefully he gets home before midnight. It was 11pm yesterday when he got home and I was cooking eggs benedict before bed.

Time to eat some breakfast and I'd better dry my hair before venturing outside.

    Take care xxxx
  • Glad you're feeling a bit more chirpy FUDDLE, enjoy the sunshine, at least that is free and unlimited, also not fattening, can only be good, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Morning all - sunny but cold here too - it's lovely!

I can't knit :( (well I can do a basic bit but I'd want my new life to be more than basic!) so is it ok if I quilt myself a new life? SDG - love the idea of doing two so I think I'll have a lovely snuggly one made out of old clothes and favourite bits from the scrap bag and a more glamorous one from expensive bits of silk, with added beads and ribbons, I'll go for stunning dark red and black for that one I think! :D

DD safely deposited a nursery - asked her if I could have a kiss before I went and she replied 'no' before disappearing off to play with one of her friends! Can't decide if I've done a really good job of raising a secure, happy child or whether I'm just redundant! :rotfl: DS currently playing with his wegits and completely ignoring me too so will get on and revise another chapter.

    Have a good day everyone.

My knitted life would be drop one purl one lol I'm not a very good knitter but would love a snuggly chenilley type life if anyone cares to adopt me for long enough to show me how to stop dropping stitches :D

Jamanda I forgot to pick up the pack of flannels Val suggested apparently they do a pack of 10 for £3 was it those? Have a lovely time..I have no sense of direction either so always take my friend as she knows her way around!

    Best of luck SDG.
Yes I'd like a slinky black knitted life, with a bit of bling on it.
Jamanda I really love Ikea, at least I would if it didn't have any other people in it. DH will agree to a trip if he can have meatballs, but it only happens every few years as we don't have one very near. When DH gets a job, we will be going there as the children desperately need new storage furniture for their rooms. The front has now fallen off two of DS's draws and another is irrepairable - the problem is, it was all very cheap flatpack stuff we got for the two flats we rented out in London 10 yrs ago. Never expected to still be using it. The children both have tiny rooms so I'm looking forward to getting some kind of furniture that can be adapted to use the little space there is most effectively.
DH has gone to an interview this morning - I would cross my fingers but it has an Excel test and he's convinced he will fail it. Just have to wait and see. I have to do some chore-y stuff for DS's school application before the deadline so that is today's task, all other tasks have been put off yet again as I cough and wheeze all over the place.

If making jam etc as gifts, these look bargainous and if can click and collect for free:
