:j:j:j Just had to share DS8 teacher has produced another sick note - so thats another month of trouble free schooling :D

Just realised that sounds as though I am wishing her ill health - I am not, and I am aware that she is not actually "unwell" its simply a tactic after the issues last term advised by her union.
The class is running really well now, exactly how it should and the way it was in the infants - its such a relief.

OH says car will definitely be back on road later and its cost us nothing today except his time, its also proven he can use his bike to get all over town (he went on the bike to collect parts). He isnt totally happy at the bike thing but it has meant he can work at the garage without my being without the car or having to be back and forth fetching for him.

I now plan on sending him more places on the bike and saving petrol.

Hey all, I'm a newbie but have been reading MSE for years and read this thread everyday. Wondered if I could join in?

    A bit about me -

Emma, 24, live in a little flat with my DH who's 33. We have been married for 2 years in December.
I work full time as an Optical dispenser and DH works at Nestle making coffee. I'm on minimum wage and he has recently taken a big wage drop to be able to do a job he likes.

It's been a really hard few months both financially and emotionally. My life was turned upside down on July 24th this year when my Dad was killed in a motorbike accident and my brother was also seriously injured and our neighbour was very lucky and walked away unhurt.
A 16 year old driving a tractor pulled out on them and blocked the road and all 3 of them had no choice and nowhere to go. Dad was killed instantly.

This led to me having quite a bit of time off work. Now I'm suffering with panic attacks and bad anxiety attacks, I was very close to my Dad as I am to my Mum and Brother and this has hit me hard. I work by myself and have no collegues and absolutely hate my job - I am however working on this and applying for new jobs. So we lost quite a chunk of our income for a while, so I'm using every old style method I know.

I'm incredibly old style and can just about use a computer! It's hard to keep up with you lot but I'll try my best :)

    Hope you'll let me stay

I remember being like that, although I never let on that I didn't have any money to anyone. I had all the new things and kept up appearances to the very end. Towards the end we couldn't even afford to pay for our childcare, it was funded by the credit card and when that ran our we used loans... but the world around us was oblivious because the Fuddles were doing very well for themselves.

I was miserable back then and always stressed and worried. The thought of people thinking that we weren't doing very well for ourselves fuelled the fire. It's where I got my confidence from. But look what happened. The whole thing spirralled, DH took a salary knock when the recession first came about and we went T up very quickly.

People feel sorry for me. They pity me, I know they do but in fact I pity them because I've learned and will never ever let that silliness be a way of life again. I'm out of it, never to return. They're heading for a life of living like that and it's not a nice way to live.

I've got a stoving headache. I think it must be a come down from the nervousness of going to my new job. I was excited but very nervous. I don't do well socially

Welcome Emalou - how tragic to have lost your Dad in such a horrible way - hugs x

It's been Blugh, grey, wet, wild, windy, more wet, more wild and foggy to boot, here today. But not cold.....the dampness doesn't seem to have penetrated either so theres no need for heating.

Had to wait in for a sack of parrot food to be delivered, 12.5kg for £22 compared to 5kg for £17 at the pet shop....it does pay to buy in bulk.

Also had a lovely box of things from a fellow Toughie, who will be pleased to know that the box is currently occupied by two kittens who are trying to chase a bit of polystyrene packing, the other kitten is on top bashing any protruding parts.....told you they'd love it!

Stretched some left over pork from last weeks joint by shredding one adult sized portion, adding half a tin of beans, half a tin of chopped potatoes and a blob of tomato pur!e with a hefty dash of paprika.....made some pastry and made little pasties for tea and lunches this week......stretched it into 28 pasties and two will be ample per serving. Luckily my lot don't worry about a lack of meat, good job really :D

BM has just beeped with dough so I'd best go knock it back and make some rolls to go in the oven with the pies.

Right toughies I need a kick up the backside. I feel ugh and have done for weeks, and consequently the house has gradually got messier and messier. No matter how yuk I feel I need to start doing something about it.
I haven't baked for ages and tonight's dinner is pasta and a jar of sauce. Wish they did jars of get up and go.
Lovely kitten image Pooky! Although at the moment all I can think is that they would just be creating more mess, LOL!

We've all got some kind of bug Fuddle, has lasted weeks now, and it has made my cough which I've had for about a year bad again which is getting me down. (Have had x ray etc, its nothing terrible.) But regardless I need to start doing stuff around the house again, it looks awful. I have picked some stuff up today and that's about all I can manage. Tomorrow though, is another day!
