Smiley, Re charities, I look at it like this...if they can afford big mailing campaigns they are not spending your money on stuff that really matters to you (well they may be, but only a fraction of what is given KWIM?) Especially the BIG organisations like Oxfam and those who deploy chuggers!

Support a small local charity that does the same sort of work, and I think your pennies will be better spent. Even if that just means taking your stuff into their charity shop as donation, and looking and spending there first. ...

I so agree with this, I used to support 3 major charities with just a small monthly donation. Although I asked them several times not to, two of them repeatedly sent me glossy colour brochures; it made me so angry I cancelled both DD's. I'd rather support local charities, I feel happier seeing how my money is being used.

There are more and more charity ads on tv too, some of the images are heartbreaking and I wonder how many people are being emotionally blackmailed into giving money they can't afford.

I bin all the charity letters without opening them
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

  • Fuddle hope you are having a great day!

The sun is out here though after yesterdays rain it's still very damp.

I'm going to try for more damsons later only 15lbs so far and we have 6 trees. The problem is that all the best fruit is at the top and I hate ladders.

I've got one that looks like an aircraft boarding platform so I can go so far up, about 8 feet.

If I'm not back later you will know why!

Having a rare moment (well thirty minutes) DS8 and DD6 have gone to school, DD17 is at college and DS14 has gone to his tutor group. OH has finally gone to garage to try to sort car so I am alone in the house - first time since May I believe!!!

I could race about and clean up as everywhere a mess but am sitting down with a cup of tea. :)

Mar - hope you are feeling a little better today :)

Thank you so much for the well wishes... I loved it! Some of the children have took to me straight away, some will need longer. I know one child's name and the staff are lovely. My apron is bright red, suits my colouring :rotfl:

I'm sat with that cuppa Lyn, cheese sandwich and about to take Alfie out. Then race around the house to catch up on my jobs. My days are going to fly now!

Kidcat I hope you've enjoyed your peace time. Wow, that was a long time coming

Love and hugs to all x

I was up and out early this morning, I sent the doctor an email telling him my OH wasn't well last night and he rang at nine thirty to say he would see him at ten. So OH had to run in the shower while I got the stuff ready to drive him to town, which is half an hour away. If I had answered the phone I would have pointed out it would take him longer than that to get to town with a bad back.......but there you go. OH answered it...

Dropped him off at the docs then spent half an hour trying to find a space. I think the whole of the island were in town today. In the end I parked and paid 3 euros and had to walk back to town. OH given a pain killing injection, antibiotics, antihistamines (seems he is allergic to the smell of the grapes fermenting... and its now an infection as well)....and acupuncture while I was trying to park. The doctor sure is efficient and a lovely guy as well.

I have to go back tomorrow as the computer prescription system was down ...but he had the sense to scribble me one on a bit of paper and the chemist gave them to me till tomorrow as his system was also down LOL...the pleasures of living in Greece!OH is now safely resting on the bed and feeling better than he did, thank goodness. I slept like a log on the sofa again, away from the coughing...it was so quiet in the village I woke up at 1am wondering what was the matter LOL. Had a look outside and it was deserted......it was also freakily warm out there.

Have not been hit by the electric cut strike yet, but the strike has started. It's only a matter of time.

Hot and sunny here, very hot in fact. Had a slice of my gluten free bread with a fried egg for brekkie, then Greek yogurt with fruit and protein powder mixed in for my lunch. Might do a nice curry for dinner tonight..that will clear OH's sinuses!

Love to you all, thanks for your excellent company!
