Kittie: Well done finding some wide legged Wellies. I have always struggled, even to the extent of buying cheap ones and cutting them off short. We can't be the only ones surely?I believe that friends are quiet angels

I have loved the stories
heart warming and funny
Kittie, do you go through a spring clean type feeling when the Autumn season comes in? I'm not sorting per say but I do have a need to have everything in it's place right now.
Got so much to do. I've bought some basics nacho type crisps to make nachos with salsa and melted cheese. I'm hoping I can recreate those kits you can buy (have done, many a time) but at a fraction of the price.
Tablets. Not the medical kind. DH's work have said if he wants to get rid of his personal mobile in favour of a tablet he can use his work phone for personal use (within reason but he's a low user anyway) and get a tablet via work because he needs to access emails and the works system at home. We will save DH's mobile contract each month of £28.0 -
Sorry to hear about the boiler Mrs C it seems a lot of appliances and stuff are breaking down at the moment wonder if its because we've all put the heating on/tried it out? Shame to hear of so many people having trouble tho
Phoned DS3's school as he's out the rest of the week and apparently they're dropping like flies there  what with that and reading on here there seems to be a lot of lurgies around this year?
I'm a happy camper this morning aren't I sorry on a positive note Rosie didn't leg it this morning and walked very nicely so I didn't look a complete twit running home half a mile behind her!
Have a great day all XXX0 -
Was walking the dogs in the park this morning when a woman came over to stroke them. She was blown away by how cute Tessy is
She then said, "I'm not saying you look like each other, but she has this sweetness and cuteness going on, and you have it too." I didn't know where to put myself!! It was rather nice to receive an unsolicited compliment but I'm not sure about being 'cute' at the age of 40+ :rotfl:! Still at my age any compliment is better than none :rotfl:and she did put a smile on my face. It's the little things that get you through, isn't it?
Anyway. Just done an approved food order for soya milk and tofu, and even with delivery I have saved a fortune as tofu is really expensive in the shops. I should be ok for stir fries for a little while now. Happy vegan Smileyt!
Must go and tidy the house, it looks like a bomb site.
Monnagran - very happy to hear your homeless man has a roof over his head. I always say a prayer for the homeless when I take the dogs out last thing and the weather is horrendous, and a prayer of gratitude that I have a home to get back to and sleep in.Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Still trying to be frugal...0 -
I'm feeling happy, well I mostly do but today it's because it's almost the end of September and I've just served up a completely home grown meal. The polytunnel is amazing we have had baby carrots with hummus, then a lovely salad of cut and come again salad leaves, radiccio, fresh parsley, rocket, cherry tomatoes, a ripe pepper, and a homegrown onion. I cannot believe how far the growing season is extending in there, and last night for supper we had homegrown sweetcorn and a hot pot with our own potatoes and carrots and onions and one of our own cabbages. I love the garden, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Now those are feelings girls, smiley and MrsL, two real good feel good feelings for completely different reasons. Oh there's a bit of a happier theme going on lately...can I add another one?
I start work on Monday
Off to go work hard on a new menu plan. Oh and thinking about a scooter to get me around. The only thing is it looks like it would cost just as much to insure me to ride a scooter as it would an old little car so I don't think it's going to be a goer. Still thinking about a bike but to get to work it is a 12% gradient.0 -
FUDDLE - congratulations on starting work on Monday, you've turned another corner it's brilliant.
If you are thinking of getting a scooter (presumably the moped type and not a foot one) do you have a motor cycle licence? If not add in the cost of the CBT course which is compulsory before you can take a test.
Have you ever considered an electric bike? they let you pedal by your own power when you are on the flat or downhill and you can kick in the electric assist when you are going up hill, might be an idea to have a look?
SMILEY - It sounds as though you are smiling again, and thats lovely, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Yeah a moped. I'll scratch that idea as the thought of getting a CBT test is a bit scary. I was talking to a women who got an electric bike a good few moth back. She is a carer and because we've lost 2 out 3 buses serving our village she couldn't get to work on time. She was telling me that she got her electric bike from Tesco for £400, I immediately though that's a bit steep but it would be around the same price as a scooter and won't need monthly insurance. Food for thought, although the fact that we're talking £00's means it's just an idea. My feet are the cheapest. I'm going to have to take up running to get to places on time! (there's a thought actually

I passed my bike test at 40 and got a Yamaha 125, was over the high moor roads for 2 years summer and winter, low-flying jets would streak down the valley lower than me lol. Finally had enough when the snow was piled 6ft high each side of the road and I got halfway over then found the road closed and had to go back and detour for bloody miles. But I loved it in summer, used to travel miles away just for fun. I cleaned farmhouses then, was self employed and had more work than I could handle.0

Just been wandering the web, looking for 1" wide cotton tape. Im amazed it varies from 49p a metre to 14p . Thank goodness we can research these things. But then you have to check the postage or you are really wasting money. I can buy a reel from one of the fleabay/Ama8on type places but turns out its cheapest nearer home. I wish I had known on Sunday as I was in the flipping shop
Its amazing to me still what you can find online when you are making do and mending.
Fuddle great news :TClearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0
