    That's funny Pooky. :D
DD was already very suspicious about it, and isn't that bothered but I feel bad for forgetting.

Phew, what a relief. No actual minging bits then ;) I was imagining sort of odds and ends of tripe, a shrivelled tomato and half a cup of furry baked beans :rotfl:

    No - that's tonights tea!! :D

Great news Monnagran, well done to you.

Possession - when DD was little I, like you, forgot to put the money out. She came down and forlornly said that the tooth fairy hadn't been and I just blurted out "damn - I forgot" even though I rapidly followed with "to tell her" cat was out of bag.

I think she loves the story too much to be bothered about finding out that way!!

DD is off sick - literally throwing up sick. So I hope yesterdays episode was about that more than school. No school means no drama club tonight and that is a big deal for her so she must be genuine. I still expect a miraculous recovery around 5  but she still ain't going. I have decided to put her on a 6 week course of Rhodiola rosea to see if it helps with the anxiety. It won't do her any harm and may, at least, act as a placebo.

So another "working at home" day. Tho I think I will have to leave her this PM for a short work course. Next week I get a ton of marking so I won't feel too bad, even if I end up doing the bl00dy ironing. I also need to take in some cakes and biscuits I have made for the MacMillan coffee morning work are throwing tomorrow.

I might even get dressed first!!
I wanna be in the room where it happens

VJ's mum I hope DD feels better soon (although not before 5!). She's having a hard time of it lately.
We have the sun out here! I don't think it will be out very long as there's only a little gap in the cloud but at least I can say I've seen it. It definitely still exists.

LOLZ at the tooth fairy stories...I've got one too.

My oldest DD had lost a tooth and the tooth fairy had delivered her a tiny letter in a tiny envelope (my mum used to do that so I just carried on the family tradition :D) She sidled up to me when I was in the kitchen and told me very conspiratorially "I know the tooth fairy's name" "DO you?" I said, really puzzled as I knew I hadn't signed it.
"Yes" she says "It's Hand!" "Hand???" I said. "Yes" says DD "It says in the corner of the envelope BY HAND!"

Thanks for the laughs this morning. Feeling the effects of my long phone call from Aus so not going to do a lot today. May put some cukes into brine for pickles.

I made the tooth fairy write a little note too - that's why DD was suspicious. Last week when she lost another tooth she asked for a sample of my writing to compare it!

PAH - I know you are having problems with your keyboard, I was too (long story short, OH and I have the same netbook, his harddrive died, my chassis was totalled from overuse so swapped my HD into his, worked for a day then lost several vital keys so could not actually put in my Windows password  ). I got one of these, cheap enough and came quickly. Very light so handy for typing in bed etc. The mousepad on my lappy is working fine, but is a bit weird swapping between the two!

Boiler went phut last night, so no bath after working and no heating until they come . When we phoned Homeserve they said that the engineers are very busy at the moment - I wonder why?!

  • just having a well earned break and `trying` to catch up with you lot. I`ve been on a mission this morning, have sorted my entire clothes stash and everything in the house fits me NOW. Main wardrobe contains everyday stuff and small wardrobe is all good for hols and going out anywhere. I have kept several t shirts and tops handy, ready for the indian summer I am expecting (hoping for) down here ;) from mid october

Re my shirt stash, well all is good as I have teamed them all with a matching t shirt so fine for autumn and sunny winter days as sun warms this house

3 big carriers of good stuff for the cs and one of books. I `hid` one more carrier full in my shopping trolley for next time as dh is coming with me and I don`t want him getting the wrong idea :)

I can`t believe how many good skirts I have earthed up, lots but they all fit nice so I now have to think about leg and footwear to go with skirts. Most sandals stashed away for next year and a couple of pairs of worn out crocs gone in the bin. Just need to go back up and clear the dregs of my mess. Lol I found my overtrousers, walking socks and snow grippers. I knew they were somewhere

I ordered a pair of wide calf wellingtons last night, they have good reviews and expand via a strap and buckle. Last time I wore wellies was when I started horse riding at 43 and it wasn`t long until my calves grew. I have looked forever for wide wellies and I may have found some. Co is called jileon
  • Well done KITTIE feels nice to get it finished doesn't it? Lovely sunny day down here for a change and many reductions in the Co-Op this morning when I went down for the paper, have a good day Cheers Lyn xxx.
