I'm pretty fed up of catching their mice friends in the middle of the night - no way to sleep through two cats chasing some poor mouse around, with many thuds as they hit doors at either end of the hallway.
I also don't care for getting up in the morning to feathers and "bits", or coming home from work to feathers and bird poop and a slightly tatty thrush perching on the bathroom window.
And don't get me started on the mole they let loose behind the dressing table ...:rotfl:
:rotfl: at the mole!
I stood watching 5 cats at 4am two mornings ago, chase a mouse around the kitchen, up the walls, under tables, behind the washing machine...in the end I opened the back door and the mouse walked out with all the cats looking at me as if to say "where'd it go ?". Thanks mar and mrs LW. Tbh that is the way I want to be. I am going to bite the bullet and get rid of a bag of clothes at a time, to the cs.
So I want to end up with a `posh` day outfit for tea parties, ok not too hard. I`ll keep the good bm tops and the cotton trousers. I`ll probably get rid of most tunics. I`ll keep the best two pairs of `posh` trousers. I`ll try on all my skirts and only keep those that slink past my hips and feel comfortable
Ok, that is a good start.0 -
KITTIE - If you have anything nice, too good for the CS do try to sell it on EB*y or one of the auction sites, people are so cash strapped at the moment that nice things are very popular and you may be doing someone a really good turn. It will also give you a little return and that will be nice for you too. Cheers Lyn xxx.0

The fluffy one (cute-but-dumb) likes to live outside and goes a bit feral in the summer and has just started to come indoors at night.
I wish I was cute but dumb sometimes. Regrettably I'm neither. I'm not very fluffy either!I'm sure fluffy, cute and dumb must have an easier life than hard and mouthy- my friend calls me "earthy". i don't think it's a compliment
I am generally the one "who copes" - i'm sure it will be on my gravestone "Here lies VJsmum - she coped". Not sure I'm coping very well with DD however.
In other news - I made dumplings today. First time ever. And here's the rub - DS ate them!!!! SOme YS casserole steak and other "minging bits" (quote DS) in the slow cooker - mine seems to work best on low for 4 hours so I use a timer plug, with a good glug of red wine. Pop dumplings in for the last 40 minutes with it on high. Was very yum.
I suppose I could do the ironing....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Yeah...next life I'd like to do cute and fluffy, and also be able to pull off one of those full blown girlie strops that seem to make blokes pay attention... I could break all the china and walk out of the house and I think mine would carry on watching TV....
I'm lolling at ''minging bits'' although I'm not sure I want to know EXACTLY what they were! :rotfl:
My chicken carcasses resulted in a full bowl of nice chicken meat bits and a lot of tasty stock. DS and I are both brewing colds, so we decided dinner would be a medicinal chicken noodle soup, we stuck loads of garlic, chilli, fresh ginger, some 25p YS mushrooms, onions and some rather excellent rice noodles in, along with the remains of a can of coconut cream from the other day - very tasty and hopefully will do us good.

Evening all
I am now feeling well enough to be pee'd off at being in the house, but still coughing up yucky stuff and losing my voice if I use it too much (Not that there is much chance of that as my lot don't bother talking to me that much). I want to go out and do stuff *pouts* At least I'm having a few no spend days.
I have a wardrobe full of posh frocks brought for various occasions and a few just because I fell in love with them. They hardly every get worn but I know that if I get rid of them something will come up and I will need to go and buy a new one. I have sorted out my every day clothes today and got rid of a bag of stuff and put some clothes into storage for next year. Some of it is looking a bit tatty now, but I hate buying clothes so much that I hang onto things to avoid having to buy more.
Tomorrow I will be baking for the MacMillian coffee morning a friend is having on Friday. The plan so far is sugar free tea bread, brownies and lemon drizzle cake. I might make other things, but it depends on what I feel like and what ingredients I have in the house. I forgot to ask DH to get more margarine.
I'd better go and put fruit to soak. Take care everyone xxx0 -
Compton's gravy salt. I saw some on Tesco. My grandma made her gravy with cabbage water, swish of leftover yorkshire pudding mix, meat juices and comptons gravy salt. Going to give it a go

I've never been able to pull that girlie-girl little woman schtick as have always been a big lass. Hell, I was 20 inches long at birth. You can't pull fragile when you stand a head taller than most of your peers, I find. Although I did once date a feller of 6 foot 5 and I HATED looking up to him.:rotfl:No pleasing some of us, eh?
I'm also an Older Sister which seems to be a distinct personality type of Bossy Mare.
My tombstone will probably read Here lies GQ who has finally stopped multitasking and gabbing away. Thank gawd for the peace and quiet. Amen.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I've got to tell you.
Just had a call from the lovely young man who came to see what we do at the drop in and now comes every week. He is really attached to the Drug and Alcohol addiction org. He has been on the case of our chap who arrived with just the clothes he stood up in and has since been sleeping behind some bushes in the park. I might have said that on Sunday he was wet to the skin after sleeping out in torrential rain. Well, our dear blue haired helper rang me to say he has got him into a Hostel where he can stay until there is proper accommodation for him.:j:j:j:j:j I feel ecstatic. I will be able to sleep tonight knowing that he isn't out in the heavy downpours we have been having. It just shows what can be done if you know the right people.;)
Sorry if I'm boring but I had to share this with someone.I believe that friends are quiet angels
