Yes no point in keeping for that I don't think, DVD is a dying format already, but DD is only 7 it seems wrong for them to go. On the other hand I could really do with the money now. A few of them I'll pass on to my nephews.

You may find it better to sell the more common ones, I did the same thing when mine grew out of watching them, but strangely they grew back into them in their teens and we had a right job getting hold of some of them.

Disney doesn't do them all the time. Got the few elusive ones on e-bay at a horrific cost!

Have to decide what to eat...Going for simple I think...Cereal, fruit and milk. Possibly a yogurt later and later still jacket potato(well a baked potato...)

Having a coffee at present, first warm beveridge for over a week(if you dont count cup a soup)

No room in the freezer but I thought it was good value...a new product from the Aunt Bessie Range...a kind rustic mini roasts(potatoes)£1.99 in Tesco's, In Herons...£1. Heron's also had(Serves two)beef casserole or chicken casserole with herbs, veg and gravy or a white wine sauce £1.75. If split that's approx 85p a meal. Don't suppose I could make that any cheaper starting from scratch.

In the charity shop I did buy a grey patterned tank top for 99p.

To clean the washing machine(and possibly other things...)I bought my first soda crystals and white vinegar(I think it's the right vinegar)it's called distilled malt vinegar with none of the normal brown colour.

Got a couple of red onions and a bag of ordinary onions.

Really thick 3 ply paper towels by Regina(normally £3)available at £1.50 in Wilkinsons.

Found a free four week(2 hours)course to introduce you to cooking and how to have a balanced diet which I almost was thinking of going to but I know most of what they'll cover and have enough books about such things and there is so much on the net plus all the tv shows...I'm not sure it's worth going...

I also found a befriending service for older people who have come home after a hospital visit(4 hours a week) which I might like to think that I can manage but as I have difficulty mobilitywise, they may want some shopping doing though I am good at shopping for bargains, I might struggle but I could give companionship to someone and if lonely perhaps a chat is all they need.

It's social contact but again in my situation doing that may be a problem if I am affecting the rules that govern my entitlements for the sake of offering to do such a small amount of hours but as I said elsewhere thinking or trying to do something does not mean that you are able...

Heard some pretty scarey stories about Voluntary Work and how it affects people when I got into a conversation with someone at the CS. They've stop recruiting at present because of how things are changing. But lets say many of the things we worry about on here and support each other over, I can say unlike that song "Things Can Only Get Better!"...it ain't!

We'll just have to see as happens with Fuddle, they are ideas that give you something to think about.

Hope the Birthday bash is still going ok Fuddle:)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: no scratch that :eek::eek: I'm demented! The girls don't like the snacks I've laid on so they've sent Dh down the Coop with a list. Two words. Snacks and Coop :eek: I'm pleased to report that he's managed to accommodate the wish for croissants - 18p reduced.

    Oh Dear...
Sounds like fun at your house Fuddle.

Missed the chance of some YS stuff in Tesco's today, some belly pork was put on the shelf as I was looking and someone swooped out of nowere and it was gone.

Oh I got two tins of Big Soup(Heinz)£1 each but normally £1.39 and if I use only half a can that's making each portion only 50p and it has more in the can than ordinary soup or if I use the whole can that's one decent meal and if that is all I have it won't do me any harm if eat not much more...

How quickly the nights are drawing in now...:(coming home from the SM at 7pm the birds were singing and the sky was rather a nice colour and by 7.30pm it was dark and I had to put a light on...

You are getting off lightly with reduced croissants :) I have to say I gave up making HM stuff for kids friends as it never got eaten, I would spend hours making really good stuff to have them turn their noses up and ask for junk. Too disheartening for me. :)

When DS has pals round for sleepovers they gratefully consume everything offered, none of the other mums ever make them anything. I made them cheesy pizza toast last time they were round and bought them a couple of bottles of coke on offer.

And when DD has sleepovers she practically draws up a timetable and then goes to the corner shop to buy appropriate quantities of chocolate and pink marshmallows with her pocket money. She doesn't like me "interfering":rotfl:

I've only got two rules for sleepovers...first they clear up any mess they make, second they can stay up all night in the relevant bedroom if they like but quietly, they mustn't keep everyone else awake. Oh, and the third rule for DS is if he and pals decide to go to the 24 hour Tesco for more food at 3am they must tell me first! (He's 16, Tesco is a five minute walk away.)

Fuddle we will remind you next year that you said this! Cos you know you will do it again as you were born to make your children happy. Your Oh did well get reductions, send him again :D

Valkscot, Im presuming you do the washing machine bit with the fleece still in the pillowcase? so you dont bung the washer up. It sounds ok and I dont need as much faff if Im just using it as stuffing do I?

poor old Kidcat, I know what its like not to have a conversation for days, you do get a bit fed up. Im meeting Smileyt tomorrow so I can have a good old natter, and I believe PAH maybe joining us :T:T

That's lovely, I hope you have a wonderful time. I like my own company but I agree what you say when you have no one to talk to. I have nice neighbours but the place is so quiet and you can go days without seeing anyone. Most of my talk is with shop assistants.

After shopping tonight I just found myself people watching sitting in the SM for a while before coming home, how sad is that?
