Ellie where did you originally liveemo4.gifI know you have no choice but I hope your move goes smoothly. If you moan I think you are definately British but I think most of our moans are justified.

I am French and we love moaning too :o Or rather complain :p I am just scared of moving again, making new friends, etc. I won't have a job and good jobs in the area are scarce. And they also have to be part-time so I can finish my phd. It is also hard for me because my family is so far away that I can't just book a weekend to go and see them. I know France isn't far away but it is quite a trek to get to my parents' and it is pricey. But as I said, at least I have a lovely in-law family and I should stop complaining so much.

But the fact that I am forever moaning about the weather and getting red every time the sun's out: yep, I am definitely turning British :D

I would be scared too. It is quite a trek and expensive because of the English channel and having to use the tunnel or a ferry...well France's loss is our gain...:)

As a child I was given a cod liver oil capsule daily at school with all the other childrenalong with a spoonful of malt extract daily and a third of a pint of milk,I think being at school in the late 1940s-50 every child seem to be given them. Now I am a bit more aged and my joints have seized up with this damp weather, (plus osteo -arthritis)I think I would probably be better off having a slug of WD40 to get me more mobile :):):)

Awww, it's so sweet Popperwell :o I could take the plane but it means staying longer and leaving my husband behind, and I always feel guilty leaving him behind :o Maybe if I were living in France I would be moaning and wanting to go back to England :D It's almost a certainty. In fact, England is my home now :)

I don't know how it was in the UK, but in France kids started being given regular cod live oil in the 19th century as a way to strengthen your immune system. Why, I don't know...

You'll make friends I am sure and at least wherever you are, you can still come on here...

I made this twice a couple of months ago. Once in mohair and once in the stated yarn and I have enough mohair to make another one. It worked up very quickly once I got the hang of working around the posts for the ribby looking bit..

Patterns there are patterns for sale here in various chunky weights as well as some free ones on another page but you do have to trawl through those to find what you want. just click on the yarn weight drop down thingy to find the weight you want and it will find patterns for you.

Indeed! Everyone is so nice on here. And people won't judge if you're counting the pennies. Or if you just fancy a cosy evening on the sofa with a nice dvd and some crochet/knitting :D (my idea of Heaven :D )
