Hello again Pops, (yes, it was me!)
It's quite rare for me to meet cyber-friends, so it was a lovely surprise to bump into Pops outside Mr T's. Of course, Pops recognised my trike and was still in the area when I came out. Yay! We had a good chin-wag and I was able to share some cheering news which I shall now share with you.
My income has dropped like the proverbial stone this year (I'm a self-employed e-tutor in Maths) and I rang up to see about renewing a claim for disabled persons' working tax credit. I'd rung a few weeks ago and was told that I couldn't renew until next April. However a letter from DWP last week advised me to get in touch quickly if my income had dropped.
So I did and a lovely Scottish lady took my details and processed my claim over the phone there and then. No form-filling, no photocopying, just my word. I'll have some much - needed cash winging its way into my account.
I came out of Mr T's with a lot of yellow stickered bits and pieces too. It's been a good day.
Finally I had mentioned to Pops a very good disability forum that I'm a member of, that rose from the ashes of the BBC's excellent Ouch! messageboards. I thought I'd share it with you too. The BBC scrapped all messageboards that weren't linked to programmes, so Ouch! went.
OuchToo is an excellent source of mutual support, debate and info for those of us with disabilities or those with an interest in disability matters.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Great, thanks butterfly. I actually quite like the idea of adding soup mix. I'll add just a bit. The word gruel turns my stomach.
Saving my yoghurt pots to sow in next year. Is there anything I can be sowing indoors now? Instinct tells me next spring.0 -

It really was good to meet up and have a chat!
It was a good day for YS items but that is rare and I had no room for any myself...In fact though I don't stick to dates much I am getting rid of some mackerel as it is 8 days over the use by date...its my fault I meant to use it but just did not get around to doing so...:("A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. My favourite thing to add is tinned spaghetti

Strange often works well...
First time in my life I have purchased ear plugs to protect my hearing at the concerts I have lined up for the future...not many but I am right at the front of the theatre!
(A couple of big band shows and one with the 60's pop group The Searchers)Too late I have discovered that I have missed the chance of seeing Neil Sedaka, don't know how that happened.
It's a musical not a concert but next year I am booked to see three of The Osmonds locally(not Donny or Marie)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
